📈 TUESDAY TIP: Easily boost your website traffic by checking 'impressions' in Google Search Console (it's free!)

Head to Google Search Console (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home) then the 'search results' tab to see some useful search data about your site.

On this page, sorting by impressions shows what terms Google is showing your website for, but may not necessarily be getting clicks.

Before diving into editing or creating content however - it's important to analyse intent, targeting keywords that will actually lead to enquiries or contact, versus more informational terms.

In this example, while 'things to do in tasmania' looks enticing with high impressions, it's more people searching for information.

(Dom's tip: If you're unsure on what the intent may be, dump your list into ChatGPT and ask it)

From your list, take your transactional keywords and implement them through your content - this may be:
- a website heading
- through your homepage content
- creating a new page etc.

After some time, you should start to see an increase in traffic which can also be measured in Google Search Console.

Need a hand or not sure where to get started with optimising your website for search? Feel free to get in touch - we're here to help. Happy Tuesday!

We're pleased to share some recent website work published live in the redeveloped We Ponder website 💡

Rose and Dana had a stunning vision for what the reskin of their existing website was to look like, so the Wakeford team went to work bringing this to life; along with the setup and addition of the new Potter's Choice range (seriously check it out if you haven't already)

Working over an existing site always has its challenges, as does a website with a few moving parts - so a shout out to the We Ponder duo for their patience and input, along with Wakeford's newest addition Yousaf who was a wizard in Webflow.

Looking forward to sharing some more website and digital marketing work soon, in what's been a mega middle block of 2025.

If you're using ChatGPT or AI to generate content for your business, there's some easy things you can do to help take the outputs from generic, and robotic to something that's valuable 🤖

To create a stronger prompt, some questions to ask yourself before starting include:

1. Did you tell ChatGPT what role it is playing or what its experience is?
2. Is your prompt as simple and clear as it can be?
3. Did you include a goal
4. Did you provide additional information, documentation or examples?
5. Did you add specific formatting requirements?

Here's an example...

A) "Write me a blog on website design in Hobart"

vs

B) "You’re a content writing expert that specialises in website design, particularly in Hobart, Tasmania. Generate a content outline targeting “design practices to enhance your website design for Hobart businesses," then develop this into a comprehensive blog post. Include terms like “website development,” “SEO,” “content creation,” and “competitor analysis.” The target audience is local businesses and business owners, with the goal being to educate users and provide a framework or checklist. Target 1,200 to 2,000 words."

You can see already that the later is going to produce a much better, more specific and detailed outcome.

Utiilise the above five questions as you go about your week - happy Monday!

How do you know if SEO is a good strategy for your business? 🤔

While chatting with a colleague this morning about digital opportunities, local SEO came up - and we wondered if this would be worthwhile.

Using data provided by SEO platforms is a great way to determine if importance on SEO could be a good strategy; or whether efforts elsewhere may prove more fruitful.

In this instance, 1,900 estimated searches a month suggests that targeting this term may be beneficial - particularly if we can improve the 'map pack' presence of the business through reviews and optimised listings.

Using data to inform digital marketing strategies can be easily overlooked by local businesses, with plenty of free platforms and information out there to help inform even top level decisions.

Done a search recently and noticed you have to scroll a while before the actual websites? 🧐

Search results are changing, and it's important for any business to stay ahead of the curve - this is why we're highlighting Google Business Profile (GBP) for your Monday.

With over 40% of users clicking on the 'map pack' - which is controlled by your GBP - ensuring you appear in these results is now more important than ever.

Our quick cheat sheet includes:
- optimise your Google Business Profile (name, address, phone, services etc)
- post updates to your GBP regularly
- collect reviews regularly, encouraging 5 stars
- create local content on your website
- build local links and citations

While it requires effort on multiple fronts, the results can pay off.
