What a day at Cobham Youth Justice Centre where we had graduation for the music x video workshop.
Thanks to our special guests from and and Chris from for coming in and supporting the program.
The boys are blessed to have your presence and hopefully they continue to stay on the right path.

What a week it’s been.
After weeks of hard work, collaboration and creativity, we’re just one week away from the official screening of and by inside Cobham Youth Justice Centre

Seeing the boys pour themselves into this project and watching their confidence grow throughout the process has been incredible.
Next week, they’ll get to experience the finished product, a professionally mixed and mastered song accompanied by their very own music video alongside their units and support networks.

These screenings are always special. The atmosphere is filled with positivity, pride and excitement as the boys see what they’re capable of when given the opportunity to create, express themselves and work together.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. We can’t wait to celebrate their achievements with them.

🎵 Cobham Youth Justice Centre | Music x Video Workshop 🎥

What happens when you bring together music, filmmaking, creativity, and young people looking for opportunity?

In our recent workshop at Cobham Youth Justice Centre, ZOKU Creative partnered with and to start delivering an end-to-end music and video production experience.

More than just observers, the young people are invited to be part of the journey, working alongside industry professionals, learning new skills, building confidence, and contributing to something meaningful.

For many, experiences like these can open doors, spark new passions, and create possibilities they may never have considered before.

This behind the scenes video captures the energy, collaboration, and impact of the day, showcasing the power of creativity to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Full documentary to come!!!

We just finished our 6 week introduction to videography workshop with some of the young men inside Cobham Youth Justice Centre and here are our 3 big takeaways ⤵️

1) We focused on being mentors and role models just as much as educators. We always started the session reflecting on the week and discussing positive and negatives experiences.

2) Give the boys a positive opportunity and they thrive under that environment. We were so proud to see everyone engaging and even getting uncomfortable in front of each other talking about what they’ve been through on camera.

3) The boys really trust us. One was released throughout the workshop and contacted us straight away. This meant a lot.

Currently underway with our next workshop and it’s already looking like it will make a real positive impact to these boys.

Some of the best moments can’t be planned.

At our recent workshop with everything we had been learning about lighting, composition, and storytelling was put to the test when one of our young guests shared her poetry with us. What started organically quickly turned into something special.

Together, the students stepped behind the camera and collaborated to create a cinematic piece inspired by her words. Watching an idea come to life in real time and seeing the finished video unfold right in front of them was a reminder of why we do what we do.

We’re passionate about teaching videography, but even more than that, we love creating spaces where young people can express themselves, work together, and make something they’re genuinely proud of.

A huge thank you to every student who played a part in bringing this project to life. 🎬✨

Trust isn’t built overnight.

But when we walk into Cobham with a cinema camera rig and hand it over to the boys to use freely, something powerful happens. They’re not just learning how to film…they’re being trusted.

For some, it’s the first time they’ve ever had access to equipment like this. For others, it’s the first time strangers have placed that level of trust in them.

That simple act creates a sense of ownership, belonging, and confidence.

What might seem like a small gesture can have a lasting impact. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs in our workshops start with something as simple as, “Here, give it a go.”

This year has blessed us with great opportunities and learnings. We are grateful for the trust we are given in shooting top tier events such as game 1 state of Origin for Gemba group and Westpac.

Video agency life is fast paced and there’s little time to reflect on jobs, but this one was a bit different! What an atmosphere it was to be out there amongst the sea of Blue.

Special shoutout to our photography guru for always trusting us and our great friend for taking the photo of us from the stands!
