Due to circumstances out of our control (total lunar eclipse, cyclone Alfred, universe out of alignment, who knows?) the March Edition was very late so we offered it free to the community today.

Federation Council have made available this tool to estimate your own financial situation with the Special Rate Variation.

📢 Council is pleased to provide residents with the general rates estimator tool from our website. https://ow.ly/CNbw50UZ3sK

This online tool allows you to calculate the following:
1️⃣ The first amount is your General Rates Estimate with the proposed Special Rate Variation increase across the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 financial years - 69.94% cumulative. It is important to note that the 69.94% cumulative increase effectively includes the temporary 19% increase applied in 2023/24 and temporary 17% applied in 2024/25.
2️⃣ The second calculation is your General Rates Estimate with the projected rate peg of 4.5% only. This would be your General Rates Estimate if the Special Rate Variation increase is not approved, nor applied.

🚫 This estimator tool does not reflect additional charges such as water, sewer and waste charges. It is an estimate only and does not include rebates, pensioner concession or other adjustments and is subject to change.

The Howlong Grapevine will be published on the **10th** of each month from now on.
This will allow us to capture important events like Anzac Day, Christmas, Australia Day etc, in a timely manner.

If it is a few days late, please be patient, most of our contributors are local volunteers who are busy running community groups.

If you would like to assist with ensuring that the Howlong Grapevine is published on time, why don't you offer to volunteer with one of these community groups or with us? We could all use your help.

*DATE CHANGE*
Howlong Grapevine Magazine will be holding its AGM on THURSDAY 13 FEBRUARY at the Howlong Golf Resort at 10:30am.
We are in need of at least 2 committee members who are able to commit to monthly meetings and contribute to magazine content in any way. This is not a huge commitment, we are just asking for self-motivated and community-minded people who keen to see the magazine continue into 2025.
