📣 Personal Hardship Assistance has now been activated for McKinlay, Flinders and Richmond.
After calling for this support to be made available for flood-affected locals, I’m pleased to see Personal Hardship Assistance now opened up through the state and federal government disaster funding partnership.
This means eligible residents can access:
$180 for individuals, and up to $900 for families of five or more,
to help with immediate essentials while communities recover.
Other flood-affected LGAs are still being assessed. For shires that haven’t yet been formally declared, we’re working directly with councils and communities to help get the applications done where they’re needed.
Thanks to the Queensland Government and Australian Government for working together to activate this assistance.
If you’re unsure about eligibility or how to apply, reach out to my office or your local council and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
