A farm worker accused of amputating grandfather’s leg with a battery-powered saw in the state’s Far North has had his case mentioned in court, resulting in a significant development.

The farm worker accused of murder by sawing off a man’s leg in an Innisfail park three years ago is expected to go to trial in 2026 after his referral to Queensland’s Mental Health Court was withdrawn by his legal team.
