Rodeo fans from far and wide will gather in Ipswich on Saturday 26 July to watch the Bull-O-Rama which returns to the Ipswich Showgrounds.

Crowds will be treated to a stacked program featuring mini bulls, junior and novice bull rides, and the showstopping open bull ride, where top riders will face off against some of the country’s toughest bulls.

Springfield’s Exit 33 westbound on-ramp has reopened to traffic earlier this month, following a significant landslide that closed access to the Centenary Highway in mid-January.

While Jordan MP Charis Mullen hopes significant work undertaken on the adjacent slope will not result in any further slippages, she has pointed out the urgency of upgrading the chokehold that is the Springfield section of the Centenary Highway. “What the closure has clearly shown is that the single lane highway cannot deal with the significant population growth in the Springfield, Redbank Plains and Ripley areas,” Ms Mullen told IWMT this week.

A man has been charged with manslaughter after a baby drowned at a popular campsite.

Homicide detectives were called in and the 42-year-old man was on Tuesday arrested at Bundamba, more than 200km south of the campsite.
