High praise for our latest book.

What does it mean to see children not just as learners, but as active citizens in shaping their learning journeys? How can we, as educators and teachers, embed curiosity, reflection, and collaboration into the very fabric of our teaching practice? This book is a celebration of pedagogical documentat...

I’m thrilled to see these beautiful Aboriginal Meditation opportunities by Milan Dhiiyaan back at the Museum.
Learning about aspects of Aboriginal culture from this family-owned business is one of the best ways you can understand the importance of embedding Aboriginal culture in your early childhood centre.
Dhiiyaan also go into centres and schools, so you can ask them to come and work with your educators as a powerful PD experience.

Well that's a wrap.

Our National Educational Leaders Conference has come to an end after a seven State and Territory tour. Our deepest thanks to all of those who attended and shared thinking along side our presenters. And our sincere thanks to our presenters for holding space for such thoughtful thinking and bringing pedagogical stories to life in a way that no doubt will inspire change.

Every word is a gem at the Semann & Slattery Educational Leaders conference. Excellent educators sharing so much goodness. We had a great day and loved seeing you all so much

Today at the National Educational Leadership Conference, Canberra, Kirsty Liljegren Consulting invites us to linger in the knots.

She reminds us that not all knots are problems to solve. Some are invitations … to stay a little longer, think a little deeper, and be open to what might unfold. What if we approached knots with curiosity? What if we pulled gently at the strands, not to untangle quickly, but to reimagine what’s possible?

In a system that often seeks straight lines and neat solutions, Kirsty reminds us that revitalisation comes through creativity. That to lead is sometimes to sit inside the tension and ask: Why this system? Why does it matter? And: What might be possible if we stay with the tangle just a little longer?

From what is… to what might be, even in the tightest of tangles.

Upcoming webinar at the end of this month for Semann & Slattery:

"Children's theories: Fact and fantasy, information and imagination, data and dreams"

As adults, we can often be too quick to separate things such as facts and fantasy, and information and imagination, as we tend to see them as conflicting ideas, almost opposite in their definitions. Young children, however, rather than polarise or disconnect, seek out and delight in the places where these things can naturally dance together in joyful, surprising and curious ways – This webinar, a repeat of David's 2023 Inspire Conference presentation, will share uplifting stories from practice and help us to think more deeply about what our role can be if we let go of our ‘knowns’ and sink into the places children so generously invite us into. Worlds where data and dreams, truths and untruths, can co-exist harmoniously.
