Fiona Latham-Cannon Enterprise Plus

Fiona Latham-Cannon Enterprise Plus I am living in the beautiful Snowy Mountains of NSW, and serving my clients with authenticity. In 2016, I made a decision that changed my life. Watch this space.

After 30 years of retail ownership, I needed a change of pace and place. To be among those of us who find great strength in being in the mountains, facing life everyday with gusto and determination, happiness and purpose. My media page (For the Love of Jindabyne) has expanded and gained me work in social media, and that made me happy. My decision to live and breath mountain air has changed my life

. In 2018 I am a multi award winning marketing go to girl, sharing my vibe with other innovative businesses in Jindabyne. We invite you to collaborate with us, we’re here to help you solve your business problems here in the beautiful Snowy Mountains NSW. In 2021, I am eagerly taking on more and more, and have happily accepted a part-time position with Enterprise Plus. I'll be spending 3 days a week as the newest Digital Solutions Business Advisor team member, delivering the Australian Small Business Advisory Services. Business communities in the Snowy Monaro and Snowy Valleys areas, seeking out digital business problems for me to solve, (doing a little happy dance).

2023 and it just keeps getting better. Now, as a NSW Business Connect Advisor with Enterprise Plus, I now have more time to allocate to more clients. It's a win-win, and I'm so fulfilled.

Since 2017, Business Connect has helped over 60,000 businesses, supported 15,000+ jobs, and delivered more than 211,000 hours of expert advice, all for FREE.

But it’s being shut down on Sept 30.

If this program made a difference to your business, now’s the time to speak up.

NSW Business Connect is Ending Sept 30 and It’s Not On!

For more than 30 years, small businesses across NSW have had access to free, independent advice through the Business Connect program. Supported by both sides of government, it’s been a trusted, hands-on resource helping startups launch, established businesses grow, and communities thrive.

But that ends September 30.

Despite the small investment of just $10 million annually, the NSW Government is shutting the door on a program that’s been vital to our $535 billion small business economy. No alternative exists that offers the same local, tailored, confidential support. Just a generic, scripted concierge service.

So what happens now?

There will be nowhere for aspiring entrepreneurs, regional startups, or struggling business owners to turn to for real help, not for marketing, not for sales, not for finance, budgeting, or digital tools. Just gone.

If you’ve ever received help from Business Connect, if someone sat beside you when no one else could, now is the time to speak up.

Small businesses matter! The NSW Government is cutting the Business Connect program, and with it, the free, tailored support many small business owners rely on.

For over 30 years, both sides of government backed free, independent, tailored business advice. Until now.

It’s being replaced with a scripted concierge service.
No more expert advice. No more local understanding.
Just fewer resources, and less support when small business needs it most.

Small businesses are a vital economic driver for NSW, comprising over 873,000 businesses that represent 97% of all businesses in NSW. They contribute over $530 billion to NSW’s annual sales & service income. They also employ 1.8 million people. Business Connect costs just $10 million.

Can you believe it's the end of June already? https://bit.ly/BusinessConnectAdvisor ~ It kind of sneaks up on you, doesn’t it? One minute we’re setting goals and mapping out big plans… and suddenly we’re in here wondering where the time went.

This is the perfect time to review and take stock. What’s worked this year? What’s changed? And how are those big 25/26 predictions holding up?

Here’s a look at a few of the top marketing forecasts from earlier this year, and how they’re playing out:

Prediction #1: “Everyone will be using AI”
Absolutely true.
AI is everywhere right now. But while the uptake has been massive, it’s still a bit messy in places. Quality, process, and strategy are still being figured out. So the lesson here? Learn how to use it well.

Prediction #2: “Social media will be more important than ever”
Always true, but still worth noting.
We say it ALL THE TIME, but the real insight is in the how. This year, it’s about platform shifts and changing audience habits. Knowing where your customers are and what they want is more important than ever, and it’s constantly evolving.

Prediction #3: “We’ll all be data-led with AI tools”
Not quite there yet.
A lot of marketers are still using AI for content, but not tapping into its full data potential. That tells us there’s a real opportunity here, but also a big learning curve.

The takeaway? What matters most is what we’re learning along the way.

And if it’s been a while since you reviewed your own business goals, I’d love to help you check in. Let’s look at where you’re at, what’s working, and where we can sharpen your focus for the next financial year.
