Attention All Independent music artists....
To all our friends, followers and supporters… We received some devastating news on Saturday via an email from our distributor LANDR. It appears we have been unjustly ‘flagged’ for ‘Artificial Streaming’, a situation where it appears that an unusual amount of streams are coming from unusual locations or multiple people in similar locations are playing tracks continuously on repeat.
This pattern indicates a possible Bot run ‘pay for play’ service may be being used. We have never used a fake pay for play service, never will and continually tell those vultures we are not interested when they message us with their sales pitches. We have absolutely no idea how or where this has happened and only received this take down notice with no explanation whatsoever. What you see below is all we know.
ALL our music on EVERY streaming platform including the music from Loopium and The Continuum has been taken down. We have temporarily ceased to exist!
We are now heavily disputing this action with LANDR and are awaiting a reply. It’s pretty nerve racking when all our years of work are just gone in an instant through no wrong doing of our own.
Looking at our stats we can still see [most are gone with the take down] we can’t even see what songs were involved or where this is happening as everything looks normal so we are at a complete loss. After the initial shock, we have been looking into this online and speaking to our musician friends and supporters across the world. It appears that recently this is happening to many others and notably as a stand out, through LANDR distribution. There are even forums on line with many coming forward saying the same thing… No pay for play services yet bam!…Shut down and flagged for artificial streams … Its pretty serious as If you don’t resolve this issue, any track flagged cannot be released again. Luckily others can through another distributor.
With absolutely no information provided by LANDR we don’t know where we stand at the moment. There are also videos on YouTube bringing this to the fore and how its becoming a ‘thing’ where nefarious persons can bring down independent artists on purpose by putting their tracks on dodgy ‘Bot’ driven playlists unbeknownst to the artists and it stinks of corruption in the industry.
Devastated as we are, we’re going to fight this tooth and nail with everything we have. We can also approach Spotify to appeal directly if we have no response or a negative one from LANDR.
It is an unfair and unjust case of you are guilty until you can prove you are innocent here and you don’t have any information to go with.
Of course this is only happening to independent artists. We would like to know if anyone else out there has or is experiencing this scenario or knows of anyone who has. Please comment or contact us on messenger to let us know.
We were due to release two more tracks and had other big moves for us planned for this week that we've been dying to get out there to you, however, now we can’t do anything until we have sorted this out in some way or get another distributor.
We hope you can stand by us for the interim. One way or another we will be back soon. If we sort this in the next few days it’s one button click and we are back on line. If not then we will go with another distributor once we have contacted Spotify and know more about the ‘flagging’ but that may take some time.
