The Voice is seeking a new designer to help bring our monthly publication to life!

The Voice is now available from various outlets in the village, with a cover charge of $5 each.

For the first time in its history it has become necessary for this mostly volunteer-run monthly community magazine to go on sale.

After our recent survey, not only did the community overwhelmingly support the move to having a cover charge, we have been further buoyed by the increase in editorial submissions and advertising support, sending a clear message that the Voice still plays a vital role in Valley life.

Therefore from this edition there is a cover charge of $5. We have placed copies at various outlets around the village including the Post Office, Service Station, The Hive, KV Coffee and the Village Green Nursery, with more outlets to be added over time. We are incredibly grateful to our local retailers who are supporting us as we make this transition.

We are hoping to set up a subscription to make it easier for everyone to obtain their copy of the Voice. We will let you know once this is set up.

Have you watched “Valley Voices” yet? It's our new digital audio series capturing the rich tapestry of lives and stories that make up our community.

Our inaugural episode features long-time residents Kathy and Simon Harrington, as they prepared to leave the Valley after 18 years.

Their story spans five decades, from Naval life with 23 moves across Australia, to finding their place here and becoming integral members of our community through initiatives like Arts in the Valley and the famous cheese-making workshops.

This conversation, recorded on a rainy afternoon on their deck overlooking the Valley they’ve called home for nearly two decades, captures not just their memories of life here, but the chapters that came before – offering insights into how past experiences shape the way we build community and embrace change.

We’re looking for the myths and legends of Kangaroo Valley for our October issue – the weirder or spookier the better!

Have you encountered the infamous black panther, met or heard about a local KV ghost, seen strange lights, had odd visitations, or even if you've just heard funny or quirky stories specific to Kangaroo Valley – we want to share them. (And don't worry, names can be changed to protect the innocent or so-far-unapprehended.)
