WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM
On tonight’s WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we have a nice selection for our 3 feature albums, and also have our Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature. Tonight the feature artist is a man considered to be the world's greatest guitarist. We've done Clapton before so who could it be? All will be revealed at about 9:15pm.

Tune in 8-10pm.

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
On tonight’s WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we have a nice selection for our 3 feature albums, one from Lloyd Cole in 1998 a best of, or a greatest hits, compilation dedicated to our friend in Rydal, Ricananda. It's his birthday on Friday!

We’ve got Dutch rhythm and soul oddity Beans & Fatback and their album from 2013 recorded in Mono on analogue recording equipment, and a 20 year old album from Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits.

In between all that, we’ve got a brilliant edition of CBFTSM featuring Bill Withers.

It's all happening on WNM tonight.

WNM 8PM TONIGHT
On tonight’s WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we have a nice selection for our 3 feature albums, with one from 2011 where a Scottish folk singer combined with an English DJ to produce a very listenable album, that opens - somewhat oddly - with the servers conversations from a Scottish tea shop.

Our second feature album is from an American artist - The album is the fifth and final instalment of his “Reggae Film Star” series - which I believe is called a pentalogy - a literary or narrative work that is explicitly divided into five parts. (Yes I looked it up)

And our third feature album this week is from a London-based Irish singer-songwriter - it’s not a latest release, we plan to play that in the coming weeks, this is a 2017 album that encapsulates the mans’s sound.

And then we’ve got our weekly feature Cover brother From The Same Mother - and this week, it’s a beauty. We’ll be letting The Big O flow at about 9:15pm.

WNM 8PM TONIGHT
Tonight on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 from 8pm - 10pm we have some modern day blues of questionable origin, with equally questionable lyrics, as one of our feature albums. We have a recent release from a Canadian band playing Newcastle tomorrow night and Sydney on Friday night, and we have some music from the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed new psychological thriller, Odyssey directed by Gerard Johnson, the brother to Matt Johnson of The The, who once again have scored the music to Johnson’s latest film.

In between all that we’ll have some great tunes and at 9:15pm we’ll have our Cover Brother Form The Same Mother feature.

WNM 8PM - 10 PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Tonight we have a fairly laid back affair for you on WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1FM.

We’ve got a few old favourites, we’ve got a French film score as one of our three feature albums, and the artist in the popular Cover Brother From The Same Mother is, or was, the epitome at times of laid back cool, a Canadian who’s appeal comes from his poetic, multi-layered lyrics that explore themes of love, spirituality, and despair, combined with his distinctive, gravelly baritone voice that added emotional weight to his songs. Three artists will attempt to replicate these songs in our Cover Brother feature which usually begins at about 9:15pm.

The Lilac Time - The Lilac Time Live (2007)
The Rules of Art - Lionel Limiñana and David Menke (2025)
Lovin' You - Richard Ashcroft (2025)

WNM 8PM - 10PM TONIGHT
Tonight on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we have our 3 feature albums where we play the opening 3 songs from each album, and we have our popular Cover brother From The Same Mother feature, at around quarter past nine, tonight featuring an artist well known to us all, a man who has experimented with everything from punk to opera and is one of the best and most consistent songwriters of our times.

Untouched Takeaway - Nick Lowe (2004)
Twilight Override - Jeff Tweedy (2025)

WNM TONIGHT AT 8PM ON RBM.
Tonight on WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we pick up the pace after last week’s mainly acoustic show - tonight, we’re a bit more rock n roll than a week ago, although one of our three feature albums is by Air, the French electronica duo so there will be time to stop and breathe.

Of our other two feature albums tonight, one is a 2017 album I’ve avoided playing as each song is about 14 minutes long, but tonight we’ll be closing the show with that particular album, and the other, is a fairly recent 2025 release from a smooth Brit pop band.

In between all of that we’ve got Cover Brother From The Same Mother, our weekly feature where we pick an artist or band and play 3 of their songs, with the big twist being that all 3 songs are cover versions, hence the feature title. That’ll be at about 9:15pm, but maybe a bit closed to 9:30pm.

Antidepressants - Suede (2025)
Talkie Walkie - Air (2004)
3-D The Catalogue - Kraftwerk (2017)

Tonight from 8-10pm on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1, Wednesday Night Music will bring you a bit of a theme* to the show in that all 3 feature albums tonight are from a certain sort of male artist, a troubled soul sort of artist, or at least a deep thinking, melancholy sort of artist. You’ll see what I mean as the show progresses. All 3 are known as great lyricists, so the 3 feature albums are really worth tuning in for.

And to double down on that, our feature artist tonight in Cover Brother From The Same Mother, is an artist equally renowned for his lyrics and his mood - but more on that later, at about 9:15pm tonight.

Idiot Prayer - Nick Cave (2020)
Songs of Love And Hate - Leonard Cohen (1971)
Blood On The Tracks - Bob Dylan (1974)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
At 8pm on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1, Wednesday Night Music will have 3 feature albums, where we play the first 3 songs from each album with the intention of deciding if we’d like to continue on with the album?

Of our 3 feature albums tonight, one is a 20th Anniversary edition, one is 24 years old and the other one, in the middle of the show, is brand new.

Our feature artist in the weekly Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature is a well known soul duo, and what was really interesting when putting this feature together, was that we found that the songs were all written by a completely different but equally well known artist. More on that later, at about 9:15pm.

Trouble - Ray LaMontagne (2004)
Allbarone - Baxter Dury (2025)
Melody A.M - Röyksopp (2001)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Tonight on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 from 8-10pm we have lots of music including our 3 feature albums, where we play the first 3 songs from each album with the intention of deciding if we’d like to continue on with the album, or would the first 3 be enough? Of our 3 feature albums tonight, two are from 2005 and the other is 2024.

Our feature artist in the weekly Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature at about 9:15pm tonight is an American artist who recorded 43 albums in his career, 15 of which have been gold certified and three platinum certified. He was also nominated for six Grammy Awards, had his own TV show, and his songs have such everlasting quality that, as we’ll demonstrate on the show, they have been covered by a wide range of artists.

Eels - Eels Time! (2024)
I Monster - neveroddoreven (2005)
Gorillaz - Demond Days (2005)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Radio Blue Mountains 89.1
Last week we took a trip back to the late 90’s with all 3 of our feature albums being from between 1994 - 1998, and featuring that chilled Bristol sound of Massive Attacks Protection, Morcheeba’s Big Calm and the more uptempo Death In Vegas’s Dead Elvis album.

Inspired by how enjoyable that all was last week, we’re pretty much doing the same thing this week, dusting down some old CD’s from back in the day, and listening to them again, in a couple of cases, for the first time in probably 20 years.

Meanwhile our Cover Brother artist this week is from a complete and utter different sound, in fact, it’s the author of the song Old Time Rock n Roll, which had lyrics railing against disco music at the time, and surely they would dislike our 3 feature albums too. But oddly enough it fits in well with the overall sound to tonight's show. Cover Brother’ll be at about 9:15pm.

100% Colombian - Fun Lovin' Criminals (1998)
Goodbye Country, Hello Nightclub - Groove Armada (2001)
Dummy - Portishead (1994)
