WNM TONIGHT AT 8PM ON RBM.
Tonight on WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we pick up the pace after last week’s mainly acoustic show - tonight, we’re a bit more rock n roll than a week ago, although one of our three feature albums is by Air, the French electronica duo so there will be time to stop and breathe.

Of our other two feature albums tonight, one is a 2017 album I’ve avoided playing as each song is about 14 minutes long, but tonight we’ll be closing the show with that particular album, and the other, is a fairly recent 2025 release from a smooth Brit pop band.

In between all of that we’ve got Cover Brother From The Same Mother, our weekly feature where we pick an artist or band and play 3 of their songs, with the big twist being that all 3 songs are cover versions, hence the feature title. That’ll be at about 9:15pm, but maybe a bit closed to 9:30pm.

Antidepressants - Suede (2025)
Talkie Walkie - Air (2004)
3-D The Catalogue - Kraftwerk (2017)

Tonight from 8-10pm on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1, Wednesday Night Music will bring you a bit of a theme* to the show in that all 3 feature albums tonight are from a certain sort of male artist, a troubled soul sort of artist, or at least a deep thinking, melancholy sort of artist. You’ll see what I mean as the show progresses. All 3 are known as great lyricists, so the 3 feature albums are really worth tuning in for.

And to double down on that, our feature artist tonight in Cover Brother From The Same Mother, is an artist equally renowned for his lyrics and his mood - but more on that later, at about 9:15pm tonight.

Idiot Prayer - Nick Cave (2020)
Songs of Love And Hate - Leonard Cohen (1971)
Blood On The Tracks - Bob Dylan (1974)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
At 8pm on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1, Wednesday Night Music will have 3 feature albums, where we play the first 3 songs from each album with the intention of deciding if we’d like to continue on with the album?

Of our 3 feature albums tonight, one is a 20th Anniversary edition, one is 24 years old and the other one, in the middle of the show, is brand new.

Our feature artist in the weekly Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature is a well known soul duo, and what was really interesting when putting this feature together, was that we found that the songs were all written by a completely different but equally well known artist. More on that later, at about 9:15pm.

Trouble - Ray LaMontagne (2004)
Allbarone - Baxter Dury (2025)
Melody A.M - Röyksopp (2001)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Tonight on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 from 8-10pm we have lots of music including our 3 feature albums, where we play the first 3 songs from each album with the intention of deciding if we’d like to continue on with the album, or would the first 3 be enough? Of our 3 feature albums tonight, two are from 2005 and the other is 2024.

Our feature artist in the weekly Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature at about 9:15pm tonight is an American artist who recorded 43 albums in his career, 15 of which have been gold certified and three platinum certified. He was also nominated for six Grammy Awards, had his own TV show, and his songs have such everlasting quality that, as we’ll demonstrate on the show, they have been covered by a wide range of artists.

Eels - Eels Time! (2024)
I Monster - neveroddoreven (2005)
Gorillaz - Demond Days (2005)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Radio Blue Mountains 89.1
Last week we took a trip back to the late 90’s with all 3 of our feature albums being from between 1994 - 1998, and featuring that chilled Bristol sound of Massive Attacks Protection, Morcheeba’s Big Calm and the more uptempo Death In Vegas’s Dead Elvis album.

Inspired by how enjoyable that all was last week, we’re pretty much doing the same thing this week, dusting down some old CD’s from back in the day, and listening to them again, in a couple of cases, for the first time in probably 20 years.

Meanwhile our Cover Brother artist this week is from a complete and utter different sound, in fact, it’s the author of the song Old Time Rock n Roll, which had lyrics railing against disco music at the time, and surely they would dislike our 3 feature albums too. But oddly enough it fits in well with the overall sound to tonight's show. Cover Brother’ll be at about 9:15pm.

100% Colombian - Fun Lovin' Criminals (1998)
Goodbye Country, Hello Nightclub - Groove Armada (2001)
Dummy - Portishead (1994)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
Tonight on WNM we’re going to be taking something of a trip back to that 90’s Bristol sound with our 3 feature album choices: two albums are from Bristol, one is from 1994 and another from 1998, and they’ll both be followed later in the show by a 1997 album from a similar sounding band, or certainly a band from a similar scene but elsewhere in the UK.

Our Cover Brother from The Same Mother feature is an artist I’m surprised we didn’t think of before, and who inspires an annual event here in the Mountains (and world wide) where groups of women gather, dressed head to toe in flowing red clothes, and dance, move and sway to one of the artists more famous songs. All will be revealed at about 9:15pm

Protection - Massive Attack (1994)
Big Calm - Morcheeba (1998)
Dead Elvis - Death In Vegas (1997)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
On WNM tonight, we’ve got our 3 feature albums, where we play the first 3 tracks from an album, and decide whether we’d be keen or not to continue listening to the album in full.

We’ve got our Cover Brother From The Same Mother feature, where we pick a well known artist and play 3 of their songs, with the twist being that all three versions that we hear, are cover versions.

Tonight's Cover Brother artist is Black Sabbath, as we lurch late, and unsteadily onto the "Ozzy Osbourne has passed away" gravy train.

Pictured here are tonight's 3 feature albums

The Cosmic Selector Volume 1 - Lord Huron (2025)
How Love Bends - Reb Fountain (2025)
René Aubry - Now (2015)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT ON RBM.
We’ve got three feature albums this week from an Australian band that could have been bigger than they are, a Northern Irish man who’s bigger than everyone else on this show tonight, and a band formed by Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley, and Gerard Love in 1989 in Glasgow that has been active for the 37 years since then and in 2023 released one of their finest albums.

In between all of that, we’ll have Cover Brother From The Same Mother at about 9:15pm which tonight features 60’s and 70’s American folk singer-songwriter Fred Neil, who’s name might initially make you wonder to yourself “do I actually know any Fred Neil songs?” Well the answer is yes, you do. Tune in and see! (Hear?)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT
Tonight's WNM is bursting at the seams with new music and old favourites for your enjoyment. We’ve got 3 really strong feature albums, one from 2024 and the other two from 2025, meanwhile our feature artist on Cover Brother From Another Mother is XTC the English new wave band from the 1970s and 1980s, who achieved only sporadic commercial success but have, still to this day, a considerable cult following.

Tune in on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 www.rbm.org.au

Our 3 feature albums are
Para Llevar - Johnny Delaware (2024)
Get Sunk - Matt Berninger (2025)
Escape The Chaos - Morcheeba (2025)

WNM 8PM TONIGHT
Tonight on WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 from 8-10pm, we'll have our 3 feature albums and our Cover Brother From the Same Mother for you, alongside some new releases, and some old old favourites that include a couple of tear jerkers from This Mortal Coil and Hazel O’Connor, and a moody one from Lisa O’Neill.

Our feature albums come from first 2022, then June 2025 and then our third one is from 2014. Our Cover Brother artist tonight is Gary Numan, who, judging by the vast number of artists who have covered his songs, has had a much bigger influence on modern bands than he perhaps gets the credit for. That’ll be at about 9:15pm and is worth sticking around for just to hear Melbourne band Cookin' On 3 Burners do their Gary Numan cover.

WNM 8PM TONIGHT
Tonight from 8-10pm on WNM on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 we open with a brand new single release, and one of our three feature albums is also a 2025 release, but generally tonight’s show is a favourite old warm jumper of a show, a laid back show with some old favourites from across the music spectrum.

As well as our 3 feature albums we’ll also be presenting Cover Brother From The Same Mother, where at about 9:15pm we’ll play 3 songs in a row from a very famous artist or band, with the twist being that the 3 songs are all cover versions of the featured artists work. Hence the Cover Brother title. Our Cover Brother artist this week, is The Beach Boys.

Here's our 3 featured albums.

Moondance - Van Morrison (1970)
Measure of Joy - Adrian Crowley (2025)
Attack & Release - The Black Keys (2008)
