One of the most talked-about and controversial swings in modern golf has to be Aaron Baddeley when he moved to Stack & Tilt.

Did it work?

Ben Hogan at Carnoustie.
They say the best ball striker ever.

He started his tee shot at the out-of-bounds fence, then faded it back into the fairway, missing the bunkers on the right.

That takes confidence.
But more importantly… it takes a plan.

I tried it in the practice round.
Didn’t have the courage to pull it off when it mattered.

Hogan had a game plan, structure, and a clear goal.

How do you practice?

Want to compress the ball like Adam Scott? 🔥
There are a few key things you need to do:

1️⃣ On the downswing, transfer your weight into your left leg
2️⃣ Flat left wrist, left arm straight, and push against the shaft through impact

There are a few different ways to achieve it—but the goal is the same: solid contact and proper compression.

High bunker shot with a high lip – how to do it ⛳️

I was fortunate enough to play the Dunhill Links Championship eight times and get to play St Andrews Old Course.
I spent time practicing this exact shot in these bunkers.

The key to getting it out high over a big lip?
➡️ Narrow radius

❌ Don’t get wide with the arms
✅ Keep the arms narrow
✅ Lots of wrist hinge on the backswing
✅ Lots of hinge through the shot
✅ Let the club do the work

How far should you stand from the ball?
I get asked this all the time in lessons — so here’s a simple setup drill you can use straight away 👇
Here’s the drill ⛳️
• Start with a slight bend in the knees
• Place your right hand on your right leg
• Your middle finger should just touch the top of your kneecap
• Now let your left arm hang naturally

Once you do this, you’ll be in the correct balanced position for your body.

Now here’s the key part 👇
• I’ve got long arms compared to my height, so I don’t need to bend over as much
• If you’ve got shorter arms, you’ll need a bit more bend
• If your arm length matches your height, you’ll sit somewhere in between

👉 Everyone is different — this is why we test and measure, not guess.
