We've owned a matched pair of Neumann U87 microphones for almost 20 years here at LSS Recording studios and they are still our go to microphones.
We're lucky to have a great selection of microphones but there is just about nothing that won't sound great with the U87.

RIP Rupert Neve. A true pioneer with his audio equipment designs that have greatly influenced the world of music recordings since the 1960’s.

At LSS Recording Studios we’ll always remember his contribution to the industry and continue to hear the legendary ‘Neve Sound’ with our Neve 1073 Mic Pre and EQ modules. 🎛🎛🎚

It is with great sadness that we announce that Rupert Neve has died.

While Rupert’s passions for music, creativity, and insistence on exceptional quality have made an indelible mark on the fabric of the recording industry, his kindness and generosity made him a legend to us all. Through his designs and through the music created with them, his spirit will live on eternally. God bless you, Rupert.

The LSS team, Marcello Lo Ricco, David Bartholomeusz and David Badrick at The Palms At Crown Casino, Melbourne working on a live audio multi-track recording of THE CRYSTALS & CHRIS MONTEZ playing with THE ALLSTARS band.

We’ll be mixing & editing this recording at LSS Recording Studios including a stereo and 5.1 surround sound mix to match the vision filmed by Solace Productions.The Crystals rose to fame in the 60’s with hits including ‘Da Do Ron Ron’ & ‘Then He Kissed Me’ produced by Phil Spector. We last worked with The Crystals on their previous Australian tour in 2015 and we’re happy to be doing this again.

Cleaning out some old studio computers which have been lurking in the side room for years only just to be able to use one or two programs. Countless recordings and albums were created on these machines!

The studio has gone through generations of Apple Mac since our first computer in 1997, the Power Macintosh 7300, then the G3, G4, two pre Intel G5’s and currently running a Mac Pro.
