Will skaters hate it – or see it as a win?

At the May 20 Council meeting, updated plans for the Kiama Sporting Complex confirmed the skatepark will remain in the precinct β€” just in a new location about 100 metres away.

A community consultation process saw 95% of submissions oppose removing or relocating the skatepark entirely, with Council now revising plans accordingly.

The new design would also keep (or even increase) the skatepark size as part of wider upgrades across the complex.

Kiama’s skate park could move west of the leisure centre under the updated Sports Complex Masterplan β€” but councillors say it won’t shrink.
