It was a big day out today at Pyalong – nestled between Kilmore, Lancefield, Kyneton, Heathcote and Seymour! 🔥

The official opening of the town’s brand-new fire station was held, drawing a crowd of locals, firies, and a fair few familiar faces from across the region! 🚒

Brigades from nearby towns rolled in to show their support, and the community turned up in force to celebrate a huge milestone for the Pyalong Fire Brigade! 🙌🏻

You could feel the pride in the air – this one’s been a long time coming, and it means a lot to the folks who’ve kept the trucks rolling for decades! ☺️

Plenty of past and present volunteers were there, swapping stories, having a laugh, and remembering the old shed days when space was tight and gear was stacked to the rafters! 💬

The new digs are a massive upgrade – roomier, shinier, and built to take the brigade well into the future! 👌🏻

All in all, a proper country celebration – locals, CFA crews, a few speeches, and the smell of snags on the barbie drifting through the air! 🌭

Pyalong’s got itself a fire station to be proud of, that’s for sure! 👏🏻

Absolutely tragic scenes in Kilmore yesterday, with a man losing his life in a horrific worksite accident on Quinns Road.

Emergency services were called out around 11:30am after reports came through of an industrial incident.

Sadly, by the time crews got there, there was nothing that could be done – the bloke had died at the scene.

Police will now prep a report for the coroner, and WorkSafe’s been called in to dig into exactly what went wrong.

Devastating stuff. Thoughts go out to the fella’s family, his mates, and the crew he worked with – no one should head off to work and not make it home.

Kilmore Police have set up a 20-minute “preliminary testing site” on Powlett Street, reportedly testing 29 people with oral fluid checks.

A quick blitz to tick the box, while other, more pressing issues probably get sidelined. Good to know they’re keeping busy, though, even if it’s not exactly tackling the real problems in the area.
