Q: Can you have a campfire during a fire ban?
A: No

If you plan on pitching a tent for the long weekend, please check fire restrictions for your destination.

Fire bans are in place for many regions across Queensland for the final days of the school holidays.

Campfires are considered open fires and cannot be lit in places where a fire ban is in effect.

This is for a good reason. All it takes is an ember to start a grass fire.

In the right conditions, any fire that does start can spread easily and be hard to control.

Help us to keep Queensland safe by checking fire restrictions and fire danger ratings for your location.

You can check fire bans and restrictions on our website ⬇️
