I nearly didn't post this...

Places like this are getting harder to find.

A hammock stretched between two trees, absolute river frontage, birdsong instead of traffic, and not another campsite crammed in beside you.

Watching the sunrise over the river, seeing the kids cast a line and reel in fish, cracking a beer in the middle of the day and simply slowing down for a few days reminded me what camping is all about.

We've camped in a lot of places across Queensland, but this riverside spot overlooking the Burnett River is right up there with the best.
