Consistency beats intensity every time. 🔁🔥

In this clip from The All-Around Adventure Podcast, Jason Nacey shares a simple but powerful truth he learned while writing his book, Above the Shoulders. Some days he wrote pages. Other days, he wrote a sentence or two. And some days, he didn’t feel like writing at all, but he showed up anyway.

That commitment to doing something every day is what ultimately moved the needle. Not massive bursts of effort. Not waiting for motivation. Just steady, daily action. Whether it’s fitness, business, writing, or personal growth, consistency compounds. And over time, it’s what turns goals into finished work and ideas into reality.

Meet the penguins that look like they’re always wearing a helmet strap! 🐧❄️

These are chinstrap penguins, named for the thin black band that runs under their chin. And they’re some of the most vocal and energetic penguins in Antarctica. If a colony sounds loud and chaotic, there’s a good chance chinstraps are involved.

Chinstraps are built for movement. They’re powerful swimmers, incredibly agile in the water, and can travel long distances in search of krill. On land, though, they’re famously stubborn and feisty, defending their nests with loud calls and zero hesitation.

They’re also one of the most widespread penguin species in Antarctica, especially around the Antarctic Peninsula and nearby islands. Life out there is harsh, but chinstraps thrive by being tough, adaptable, and unapologetically bold.

What leads someone to think about writing a book… and actually do it?! 🧠🔥

In this clip from The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I ask Jason Nacey what led him to write his first book, Above the Shoulders. Which was a long and tedious process that involved early mornings, the occasional writer's block, and many other obstacles and challenges. Though all of it payed off in the end, as the book is now on shelves!

Above the Shoulders is about mastering what happens in your head before the results ever show up in your life. It’s about discipline, consistency, resilience, and doing the work. Even when no one is watching and progress feels slow. The book also gives readers practical tools to strengthen their mindset so they can keep showing up, day after day, until the breakthrough comes.

I will find a way, or I will make one! ❄️🐧

I hear it all the time, “I’d love to travel there, but it costs too much.” I felt that way too when Antarctica first crossed my mind.

I was making a five-figure salary and dreaming about a five-figure trip. No trust fund. No lottery winnings. No shortcuts. What I did have was a willingness to make adjustments to how I spent, how I prioritized, and what I said no to. So that I could say yes to something that truly mattered.

It wasn’t about sacrifice.
It was about alignment.

And standing there on the frozen continent, debt-free and fully present. I can say without hesitation, there is a way to see the world, create unforgettable experiences, and still be responsible with your finances. You just have to decide that it’s worth figuring out.

If Antarctica, or any big adventure, has been on your mind, and you’re curious how to make it work. I offer 1-on-1 adventure consulting to help you turn “someday” into a plan. You can learn more through the link in my bio!

The hardest battles aren’t physical, they’re fought above the shoulders! 🧠🔥

🎙️ My conversation with philanthropist, endurance athlete, and first-time author, Jason Nacey, is now live on The All-Around Adventure Podcast!

Jason lives by one powerful philosophy: “Nobody else is coming to solve your problems.” He’s carried that mindset across the globe through his work with the USANA Foundation, into elite endurance challenges like Ironman and Spartan World Championships, and into his debut book, Above the Shoulders.

In this episode, we break down what truly separates high performers from the rest. We talk about the mindset of champions, the unseen hours of discipline and consistency behind success, and why progress is built through small actions repeated daily, even when results aren’t immediate. Jason also shares practical, science-backed tools for building resilience, rewiring habits, and staying mentally strong through adversity.

They all look identical… so how do they know who’s who?! 🐧🐧🐧🐧

Gentoo penguins seem impossible to tell apart. Same height. Same markings. Same tuxedo. And yet somehow, in the middle of massive colonies, they always find their mate, their chick, their nest.

So how do they do it?!
Gentoo penguins recognize each other by unique vocal calls, behavior, and location memory. Each penguin has its own voice, and mates can pick each other out just by sound alone. Add in subtle differences in posture, movement, and personality, and suddenly they become a tight-knit community.

They may look the same to us. But to each other, everyone is unmistakably familiar. And I found this to be truly fascinating!

Curiosity changes everything! 🐧✨

This Gentoo penguin caught my eye the moment he turned his head. Alert, aware, interested in something just out of frame. And honestly, that simple moment is what Antarctica reminded me of over and over again.

Curiosity is the spark behind every great adventure.
It pushes you past comfort.
It opens doors you didn’t know existed.
And sometimes… it leads you all the way to the end of the world.

If I hadn’t followed my own curiosity, I never would’ve set foot on the frozen continent. I never would’ve stood among wildlife like this. And I never would’ve gained the clarity this journey gave me.

Stay curious.
Keep looking past the edges.
Let your questions pull you toward your next adventure.

I turned 40 during my adventure to the coldest, most remote continent on Earth! ❄️🐧

I've been looking back on these past 40 years. Not in a midlife-crisis kind of way, but in a take stock of your whole life so far kind of way.

Standing out there among penguins, icebergs, and silence, I couldn’t help but think about everything I’ve done, everything I’ve learned, and where I’m heading next.

And as I reflected on the last four decades, three lessons stood out. Big ones. The kind that shape how you show up in the world. And the kind I think can help a lot of people.

🎧 So in my latest solo episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I break down 40 Years, 3 Big Lessons. If you want to dive deeper, you can find it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify by searching "All-Around Adventure", or just click the link in my bio to access everything in one place!

Here’s to the next chapter, with more clarity, more courage, and more adventure! 🧭

🌟 Sometimes one breakthrough moment is all it takes to change the entire direction of your life!

In this clip from my conversation with endurance athlete and entrepreneur, Epic Bill Bradley. He talks about finishing a 50-mile race after his business, Bradley Video, went bankrupt. And how that single win helped him stand taller, rebuild his confidence, and set him on an unbelievable journey into ultra-endurance and mountaineering.

Hearing him talk about that turning point really stuck with me. Bill has so much spirit, positivity, and unwavering determination. Talking with him was a reminder I personally needed. To keep getting after it, to keep moving forward, and to remember that small wins can lead to massive transformations if we don’t quit on ourselves.

Three travelers pause
On a wind-carved road of snow
Stillness becomes strength.

There was something about watching chinstrap penguins moving together across the snow that stuck with me. In Antarctica, nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. Every step is deliberate. Every moment is shared.

A good reminder that even in the coldest, toughest environments, we don’t have to move alone. And sometimes slowing down is the strongest thing we can do.

Fear fades. Regret doesn’t.

I had a lot of fears before going to Antarctica. Could I really afford it? Could I take the time off? What if something went wrong? What if the Drake Passage lived up to its reputation? What if it was too cold, too far, too much?

And then the universe handed me every reason not to go. I faced canceled flights, travel chaos, uncertainty at every turn. But I went anyway. I said yes anyway.

And standing there, on a continent that so few people on Earth will ever step foot on… every fear I had felt small. The money, the time, the stress, all of it faded the moment I set foot on the ice. What stayed with me instead were the things that mattered: the people I met, the raw beauty I witnessed, and the clarity I felt being so far from everything familiar.

I left Antarctica with zero regrets. Only gratitude. Only the reminder that the biggest adventures of our lives sit right on the other side of fear.

If there’s something calling to you; a trip, a dream, a bold step forward. Don’t let fear make the decisions for you. Let curiosity lead. Let courage lead. Because fear fades… but regret doesn’t.
