This wedding almost fell apart, and somehow became something better.
Cheryl + Jonathan | Wedding
Nothing went to plan, and that’s why this wedding became unforgettable.
This story wasn’t arranged. It unfolded.
I listened, observed, and let the story unfold as it was.
The rain forced the ceremony indoors.
A guest collapsed mid-ceremony.
The DJ/MC arrived late after an accident.
Chaos, uncertainty, real life showing up on a wedding day.
The film opens with the groom, his father, and grooms men singing together. I asked for the exact song so the original music could carry us forward. Later, a live salsa band fills the reception, real movement, real joy, layered over that same sound before cutting to black.
Then we shift to the bride’s speech, where she names everything that went wrong at the start of the day. I hesitated to include it. But as a storyteller, I knew it had to live in the film. That truth was the story.
As the bride walks down the aisle, a live singer performs. I kept the real ceremony audio, so they could feel the moment exactly as it happened.
From the kiss onward, the film builds through the reception, rising in rhythm and emotion, until it reaches its final note: the bride’s closing speech.
Not perfect.
Not polished.
But honest and deeply human.
