A beautiful bush amphitheatre ceremony for Phil and Amy, and one that felt especially close to home. 💛 Phil is a celebrant too, so it was a real honour to step into that role for him. Even more so because these two are dear friends, and I’ve had the joy of watching their relationship grow over the years.

Claire and Lochy chose to marry in Kings Park’s Marlee Pavilion, a quiet spot tucked into the bushland they’ve run through together over the last 7 years. With just close family there, it was an intimate ceremony before we all headed to Swanbourne Surf Club for their big celebration.

It was such a joy to stand beside them, not just as their celebrant, but as one very proud sister.

I’m often asked why I became a celebrant. My response probably varies hugely 😅, but to put it simply, I’ve always been drawn to ritual. Making a cup of tea, lighting a candle before sunrise, diving into the ocean in the midst of winter. Weddings are a bigger version of that. A moment to stop, to recognise something real, to say ‘this matters’.

I remember every wedding I went to as a kid. There’s something about them, the magic of it all, that’s always stuck with me. Now, I get to stand alongside people on one of the biggest, most joyous days of their lives. To hold space for the nerves, the laughter, the deep breaths before the big words.

Love isn’t something we feel every second of every day. It gets tested, it shifts, it changes over time. But we return to it. We choose it. And getting to witness that, over and over, never stops feeling special.

Life isn’t to be taken for granted, so celebrate it. Celebrate it all my friends. 🌸
