WATCH & ART - PARKSIDE, PARNELLA, STEIGLITZ & SURROUNDS - updated 5.50am
Tasmania Fire Service has issued a Bushfire Watch and Act for Parkside, Parnella, Stieglitz and surrounds – Monitor conditions as they are changing.
There is a fire between Dianas Basin and Stieglitz which is being actively fought.
It is not safe for residents or vehicles to enter the area due to firefighting activities, dangerous trees and other hazards,
If you have remained in the area, continue to monitor conditions and be alert for any changes.
Embers, smoke, and ash may continue to fall on Parkside, Parnella, Stieglitz - From the Tasman Highway to Rock Street and surrounds.
Smoke and ash may make it difficult to see and breathe.
Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service and Sustainable Timber Tasmania is attending. Conditions are expected to be changeable.
If you remained in the area, continue to monitor conditions and be alert for any changes. Be ready if the situation escalates, read through your bushfire plan, if you do not have a plan decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.
TasNetworks have advised that power has been restored to residents remaining in the area.
Watch for signs of the fire reigniting, such as smoke and flames, call Triple Zero (000) if you notice changes.
Be aware of potential dangers such as fallen trees and property damage.
If you have left the area, please do not return yet as it is not safe to return.
The best option is to stay with family or friends. If you cannot stay with friends or family, an Evacuation Centre is at Break O'Day Community Stadium - 117 TULLY ST ST HELENS TAS 7216. Only travel if it is safe for you to do so.

The fire is travelling towards Dianas Basin, Flagstaff Hill and surrounds
The fire is expected to be difficult to control.
Embers, smoke, and ash may fall on Dianas Basin, Flagstaff Hill, Flagstaff Road, Tasman Highway and surrounds and threaten you and your home before the main fire.
Smoke and ash may make it difficult to see and breathe.
