That's a lot of colour showing up on Weather Radar for 0.2mm :D

It's a fairly fast moving band of showers so it's not producing much Rainfall most places across the Northwest and Central North only picking up 0.2 to 0.8mm.

There is a few Showers trying to form over the Meander Valley and West of Launceston just to the West of the main rain band.

Bushfire Advice - Cataract Gorge Reserve, Trevallyn - Avoid the area ⚠️

Tasmania Fire Service has issued a Bushfire Advice for Cataract Gorge Reserve, Trevallyn.

There is no immediate threat.

Conditions are expected to be improve

If you have a bushfire plan, check it now.

Well prepared homes are expected to be defendable in these conditions.

Monitor conditions, and if they get more dangerous, and you are not well prepared, plan to go to a safer place

If your plan is to evacuate or leave, the best option is to stay with family or friends.

Motorists are advised of a traffic hazard at Wellington Street, Launceston, due to the partial collapse of a nearby retaining wall.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and westerly winds are expected during Friday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

A short burst of warm weather and dry winds will fuel high fire dangers for the East and Southeast Thursday.

Weather Forecast

A high-pressure system centered over Victoria establishes a westerly flow across Tasmania. This high-pressure system is predicted to migrate eastward over the Tasman Sea by this evening. A strengthening northwesterly flow is anticipated on Thursday in advance of an approaching cold front. Subsequently, the front is expected to cross the state from the west later in the day bringing a cooler westerly change riding along a band of Broken Showers.

Temperatures into the Low 20s for the Central North, East Coast and Mid to high 20s for the Lower East Coast, Southeast Coast including Hobart, Southern Midlands and Derwent Valley.

Expected Winds:

Increasing from the Northwest by late morning through the Midlands, Fingal Valley, Lower East Coast, Southeast including Hobart and Derwent Valley averaging 30 - 50km/h with peak gusts 70 to 95km/h possible. Isolated Damaging winds 100km/h possible about the higher terrains and exposed Coastal areas including valley areas running North-westerly

Winds are expected to ease over Eastern and Southeast Tasmania late Thursday evening.
