People who know me know that every bit of life chaos I’ve experienced has forced me to innovate rather than stop or blame others.
Don’t get me wrong—I tried. It didn’t work. I felt worse, stuck, and convinced there was no way out of certain situations. Then I realised something important: it’s just a phase, and it will pass. It might take days, months, or even years… but it will pass.
People often say you need to learn how to channel your frustrations and roadblocks. I found my way by building in phases, as life allowed.
This is how Happy Hobby Hour Junior grew before it was even officially launched.
Week by week, we connected skills, interests, goals, and passions in a zero-waste way—creating opportunities instead of letting talent go to waste.
There were plenty of challenges behind the scenes: family commitments, life chaos, limited resources, a fractured leg, and many moments when it would have been easier to stop. But every volunteer, parent, educator, sponsor, business partner, and community supporter helped move the vision forward.
Today, seeing my son Ruhaan recognised as a Top 5 Finalist in the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards QLD feels incredibly special. 🏆
Tonight, we’re attending the Gala Dinner where the winner will be announced. Whatever happens, I’m proud of how far this youth-led initiative has come and the impact it has created for young people—built alongside school, family, work, and life’s many other commitments.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone and everything that has helped shape this journey. To those who supported us, challenged us, opened doors, shared opportunities, volunteered their time, believed in the vision, or simply showed up when we needed it most—thank you. So much of what we’ve built came from learning how to turn life’s chaos into innovation, purpose, and action.
Sometimes the goal isn’t to move fast.
It’s simply to keep moving.
Fingers crossed 🤞💙
