🏁 Race Report: Round 1 – What. A. Weekend.
I legit passed out the moment I got home — four races in one day was hectic for this ol’ gal! 😅 So here’s a recap of my first race weekend… and wow, what a ride.
In short? I’m bloody stoked.
Qualifying was a bit average — I was still finding my feet and easing into it. But come Sunday, I learned real quick just how crucial qualifying actually is. With static grids all day, I was locked into the back half of a massive field, fighting my way through the pack every. single. race. No matter how well I rode, I had to do it all over again next session.
Was it frustrating? 100%.
But also? It was an absolute crash course in racecraft. Getting stuck in, dodging elbows, and sending it into T1 and T2 with 12+ bikes around me — that was new territory, and I leaned hard into it.
😬What needs work:
• My starts (still launching like a grandma, 😂 )
• Braking
• More consistency
✊The win?
I shaved 3.7 seconds off between my best qualifying time and race 2 — from a 1:31.476 to a 1:27.760. And if I’m reading things right, that landed me 5th in the Sporties Supersport 300 class to kick off the season. Not bad for a debut weekend and a not-so-spring chicken!
There’s a ton to work on, and I’m all in. The goal? Keep improving and keep having an absolute blast doing it.
Huge love to the Mental Monkey Racing crew and everyone who’s backed me so far — your support genuinely means the world.💙
Extra shoutout to Joe from RideDynamics for jumping in and tweaking my suspension setup right before a race — you’re a legend and I appreciate your guidance always. 🙏
Bring on the next one!
