Not all backpack back panels are created equal, and if you’ve ever finished a hike with a sweaty back, you’ll know why it matters. From suspended mesh to close-contact foam, Osprey Packs Australia's panel designs can change how a pack carries and breathes on the trail.

We break down the differences so you can choose the right one for your next adventure.

A climbing gym changing a community.

Your Last Best: A Memphis Rox Story is part of the Mountainfilm on Tour: Aus & NZ presented by Osprey Packs Australia this March. This inspiring film highlights Memphis Rox, a gym in South Memphis that is redefining what it means to be a climbing community — focusing on empowerment, inclusion, and overcoming obstacles.

It is more than just climbing; it is a powerful story of how one community is making a lasting impact.

Wild #199 is nearly here… check out how sweet this cover is!

We’re going to print soon with Wild Issue #199, Autumn 2026, and we wanted to give you a sneak peek of the cover. It’s from the Warrumbungles, where photographer and writer Seb Ashton decided to head to so he could try his hand at big wall climbing. What followed was a steep learning curve and an at times hilarious adventure. You’re going to love this story.

That’s not all the only great adventure in the upcoming issue, of course. There are pieces on bushwalking in Tassie’s Walls of Jerusalem, NZ’s Kaweka Range, the Vic Alps, and NSW’s might Mt Jagungal. There’s MTB-ing in spectacular Kyrgyzstan, and a fabulous photo essay on bivvies in the European Alps. As for paddling, there’s packrafting down Tassie’s Crossing River, along with a special trip down the Franklin to commemorate The Wilderness Society’s 50th birthday.

We’ll give a more expanded rundown on what’s coming up to when we go on sale, but as ever, it’s another issue full of the best adventure writing and photography Australia has to offer. No dud stories. No crap writing. No internet slop. And lots of amazing imagery.

Into the dark, over the ridge, through the hours most people sleep — this little torch holds its own.

Trail Run Magazine Australia & New Zealand took the Fenixlight HM65R-T V2.0 headlamp out for a spin in the early hours, and it delivered: featherweight feel, big lumen output, and smart fit for rough trails.
