DELISH: We enjoyed dinner at Gia Cafe & Bistro, Leura tonight and enjoyed and all menu item. Chef Chathun described it this way.

“Sri Lankan hoppers are a type of pancake made from a fermented batter of rice flour and coconut milk, cooked in a small, round pan to create a distinctive bowl shape with crispy edges and a soft, spongy center.

They are a popular Sri Lankan dish, often served for dinner, and can be plain, filled with an egg, or sweetened for a dessert variation. Hoppers are typically enjoyed with spicy sambols or curries.”

They hope to have it as a regular menu item.
