Missing girl, Ipswich area

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a 14-year-old girl missing from Casuarina, NSW, this morning, 10 October.

The girl was seen leaving an address in Casuarina, NSW, on foot around 11:20am and has not been seen since.

Police and family hold concerns for her welfare due to her age, and her disappearance is out of character.

Officers believe she may be travelling towards the Ipswich area.

She is described as Caucasian, around 160cm tall, with a slim build, blue eyes, and mid-length blonde hair. She also has multiple fresh piercings in her nose and ears.

She was last seen wearing black bike shorts, a black Hoodrich jumper, white socks, black sandals, and carrying a black bag with a gold chain around her neck.

Police are appealing to the girl, and anyone with information regarding her whereabouts, to come forward.

Motorcycle vs Cow - Rocky River

At around 5pm on Thursday, 9 October 2025, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motorcycle rider injured after colliding with a cow at Rocky River, southwest of Tenterfield.

A man in his 40s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for a suspected broken collarbone before being transported to Lismore Base Hospital.

The condition of the cow is not known.

Missing woman, Bribie Island

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 60-year-old woman reported missing, who normally resides in the Toowoomba area.

Christine West was last heard from on the evening of 7 October and has not been seen or heard from since.

Officers believe she had been in the Bribie Island area and are concerned for her welfare due to her having a medical condition that requires medication.

Christine is described as Caucasian in appearance with long blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Police are appealing for Christine, or anyone with information regarding her whereabouts, to come forward.

Appeal to locate teenage girl missing from Grafton

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl from the state’s north.

Georgia Thomas, aged 17, was last seen on Villers Road, Grafton, about 11am on Friday 3 October 2025.

When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police hold concerns for Georgia’s welfare given her age.

Georgia is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, of thin build, with short curly black hair, and brown eyes.

Georgia wears glasses and was last seen wearing blue denim shorts, and a blue t-shirt.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Coffs Harbour Police or Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.

Man dies following two-vehicle crash - Tyalgum

A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s north.

About 10.40am today (Saturday 4 October 2025), emergency services were called to Tyalgum Road, Tyalgum – about 26kms west of Murwillumbah – following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Tweed / Byron Police District attended and found a car and a motorcycle had collided.

The rider of the motorcycle – a man believed to be aged in his 60s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car – a man believed to be aged in his 80s – was not injured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established as specialist police attached to the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the corner.

E-BIKE ACCIDENT - BYRON BAY

At around 9.30pm on Thursday, 2 October 2025, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a rider injured after an e-bike accident at Byron Bay.

A teenage boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for head and lower leg injuries before being transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

No further information is available.

Missing boy, Ipswich

Police are seeking public assistance to locate an 11-year-old boy missing from Ipswich since 25 September.

The boy was last seen boarding a train to Brisbane and has not been seen since.

Police hold concerns for his welfare due to his age.

He is described as Caucasian, 177 cm tall, with brown hair, and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, grey track pants, and thongs.

It is believed the boy may be in the Woodridge area.

Police are appealing to the boy, or anyone with information that could assist in locating him, to contact them.

Investigation underway after fatal crash - Bangalow

An investigation is underway after a man died following a crash in the state's far north this afternoon.

About 2.35pm (Thursday 2 October 2025), emergency services were called to the M1 southbound at Bangalow following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and were told two vehicles – an SUV and a four-wheel-drive – had collided.

The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries into the incident are underway by the Crash Investigation Unit.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and follow the directions of police and traffic control southbound on the M1.

Reduce your speed, prepare to merge, expect delays. Traffic is expected to remain heavy for several hours.

Appeal for information following serious assault - Byron Bay

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted at Byron Bay earlier this year.

About 3:30am on Saturday 21 June 2025, emergency services were called to a car park near the intersection of Johnson Street and Lawson Street, Byron Bay, following reports of a man had been assaulted by a group of up to six males.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District arrived at the location and found a 25-year-old man suffering head injuries.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with significant facial and head injuries.

Detectives attached to Tweed/Byron Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

The man has since been released from hospital; however, lives with ongoing effects of the assault.

Tweed/Byron Police District Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Matt Zimmer, said police are determined to find those responsible.

"This was a violent attack that has left a young man with life-altering injuries," Det Insp Zimmer said.

“He is still recovering from significant fractures and continues to have blurry vision meaning he has not yet been able to return to work.

"There are people out there who know who was involved. We urge those people to do the right thing and come forward."

As inquiries continue, anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
