UNCONFIRMED POSSIBLE FATAL CRASH - GOONELLABAH

Unconfirmed reports have been received about a possible fatal crash involving a truck and a car at the roundabout along Ballina Road Goonellabah at Oliver Avenue and Pineapple Road.

A truck and a car have reportedly collided. The car has been spun around. One female occupant is reportedly still in the car.

Emergency services are at the scene. Drivers should avoid the area.

No further information is available at this time.

Fatal single-vehicle crash - northern NSW

A man has died following a single vehicle crash in the state’s north today.

About 2pm (Sunday 3 August 2025), emergency services were called to Mount Lindesay Road, Koreelah – approximately 82km north west of Kyogle – following reports a motorcycle had left the roadway before hitting a fencepost.

The rider – a man believed to be in his 50s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Man charged following robbery - Byron Bay

A man will face court over an alleged robbery in the state’s north today.

Just after 9am (Sunday 3 August 2025), police were called to Jonson Street, Byron Bay, following reports of an alleged robbery.

Officers attached to Tweed-Byron Police District were told a 71-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man before he took an amount of cash from her and left the scene.

The woman was not injured.

Following inquiries, about 2pm today, police arrested the 19-year-old man on the same street.

He was taken to Byron Bay Police Station where he was charged with robbery and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 1 tomorrow (Monday 4 August 2025).

FARM ACCIDENT - KYOGLE

At around 3pm on Saturday, 2 August 2025, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to an accident on a property south of Kyogle.

A man in his fifties was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter's critical care medical team for suspected chest injuries before being transported to Lismore Base Hospital.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH - BILLINUDGEL

At around 7am on Sunday, 3 August 2025, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motor vehicle crash on the M1 Motorway at Billinudgel.

Three people were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. A woman in her sixties with multiple injuries was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. Two teenage men were also transported to Gold Coast University Hospital by road.

Appeal for information following home invasion - Grafton

Detectives are appealing for information following a home invasion at South Grafton earlier this month.

About 12.45am on Sunday 13 July 2025, police were called following reports a group of unknown males armed with knives forced entry to a home on Tyson Street, South Grafton.

An altercation occurred inside the home, resulting in a 25-year-old man sustaining serious injuries to his hand.

The group fled the scene once police were notified; however, smashed the windows of two vehicles at the property as they left.

The occupant of the home was taken to Grafton Hospital for the treatment of lacerations and other injuries. He has since been released.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

During a search of the area, police located a knife that has been seized to undergo forensic examination.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released images of a silver-coloured Holden Commodore seen in the area at the time of the incident.

Investigators urge anyone able to identify the vehicle or its occupants to come forward.

Appeal to locate man missing from Tweed Heads

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a man missing from the state’s north.

Timothy Eckersley, aged 46, was last seen on Wharf Street, Tweed Heads on Tuesday 8 July 2025.

When he could not be contacted or located, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District were notified yesterday (Wednesday 30 July 2025) and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

Timothy is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 180cm tall, of large build with black hair and brown eyes. He has a snake tattoo on his upper right arm.

He is known to frequent Tweed Heads and Byron Bay areas.

Appeal to locate teenage boy missing from the Northern Rivers

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from the Northern Rivers region.

Konan Fittler, aged 16, was last seen in Gulmarrad, about 25km south west of Yamba, about 4am today (Wednesday 30 July 2025).

When he could not be contacted or located, officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Konan’s welfare.

Konan is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 160cm tall, of medium build, with short brown curly hair and an unshaven face. He is often seen wearing a beanie.

He was last seen on a dark coloured push bike with orange writing and was carrying a black duffle bag at the time.

Anyone with information on Konan’s whereabouts is urged to contact Grafton Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Reappeal to locate teenage girl missing from Kingscliff

Police are re-appealing for assistance to locate a teenage girl last seen in the Lismore area.

Jalarna Buchanan, aged 16, was last seen at a shopping centre on Diadem Street, Lismore, about 11am on Thursday 17 July 2025.

When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Tweed/Byron and Richmond Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police hold concerns for Jalarna’s welfare due to her age.

Jalarna is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 160cm to 170cm tall, medium build with dyed red shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Following inquiries, police believe she may have been in the Coffs Harbour area yesterday (Tuesday 29 July 2025).

She is known to frequent the Kingscliff, Coraki, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Inverell, Gosford, Nambucca Heads, Lismore, Casino and Sydney CBD area.

Anyone with information into her whereabouts is urged to contact Lismore Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
