To our hardworking UPND structures across all wards of Livingstone Central Constituency, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Your tireless mobilisation, sacrifices and unwavering commitment to President Hakainde Hichilema and The UPND during the August 13 general election delivered results that speak for themselves.

You stood firm, worked selflessly and believed in the vision of our President. Myself and the UPND leadership are deeply grateful.

As a small token of appreciation, I have donated one cow to each ward so that we can come together, celebrate our victory and strengthen the bonds of our UPND family.

But comrades, the work does not end with victory, let us remain united, defend the interests of President Hichilema and turn his vision into tangible development for our people.

Every ward must play its part in advancing the Grow Zambia Agenda.

This afternoon, I took time to visit my political role model and senior statesman Dr Vernon Johnson Mwaanga, who is among the few remaining Freedom fighters we have as a country.

Dr Mwaanga is a son of the soil who grew up in Livingstone and spent most of his early childhood life there just like myself.

The 82-year-old veteran politician went to Shungu Primary School, the first school meant for indigenous black people and his father served as the headmaster there.

This is a politician who served our country from his youth days in various portfolios as an Ambassador, Roan Member of Parliament, eventually a Cabinet Minister and many more other portfolios he held.

His participation in national leadership as a young person inspired me and others who looked up to him in politics.

It was a pleasure to seat and chat with you sir. I am forever grateful and inspired by your counsel and leadership.

I appreciate your advise to lobby and push for development in the Constituency and never abandon the people by attending to community problems.

LIVINGSTONE TOWN CLERK INSPECTS ROAD WORKS UNDER THE GREAT-TDP PROJECT

Livingstone City Council Town Clerk Ms Sombo Kawilila this morning undertook a tour to appreciate the road works being done under the GREAT-TDP project.

The Town Clerk was impressed with the standard of road works done so far.

She however advised the Contractor to quickly consider putting speed humps and other safety measures to avoid accidents as some motorists have been reportedly over speeding on the newly constructed roads

The World Bank funded road project, anchored under the Ministry of Tourism’s Great TDP project, is meant to upgrade to bituminous standard about 8.31 kilometres of roads in Livingstone.

Ms Kawilila was hopeful that the road works would be completed before the end of the year for Livingstone residents to fully enjoy the benefits of having new roads.

So far Mwela road has been completed with Kash*tu and Likute roads almost complete.

Some roads under the same contract have been stabilized only remaining with putting bitumen,while others are being graded.

I chose to celebrate my birthday by sharing my birthday cake, love and time with the beautiful children at Leonard Cheshire Home for the Disabled in Livingstone.
Looking into their eyes reminded me of one simple truth, every child deserves love, dignity, opportunity and a chance to dream.
I told the children that they carry a huge responsibility and as such, they must be attentive in school, work hard, get good grades and grow into responsible citizens who will positively contribute to the development and economy of our beloved Zambia.
I also reminded them that President Hakainde Hichilema believes in the dignity and inclusion of persons with disabilities, which is why persons with disabilities have representation in Parliament through the proportional representation system.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to the management and staff of Leonard Cheshire Home for opening their doors and allowing us to share this special day with the children. Thank you for the love, patience and care you give them every day.
May God continue to strengthen you as you nurture these children physically, academically and spiritually.
