Mackay Region Voters:
He opposes councillor perks so that your rate dollars aren’t wasted.
He supports divisions so that every community has a seat at the table.
He supports a fair rating system that doesn’t see folks hit with rate rises in the double digit percentage points.
He opposes bullying in the council chambers so that all councillors get a say.
Back Ian Christensen for councillor. He’ll stand up and speak out for you.

If you’re in the Mackay Region and haven’t yet voted, remember that you need to vote by 30 August and have your postal ballot back to the Electoral Commission (ECQ) by 9 September. Not posted that day, but with the ECQ that day.
A vote for Ian Christensen is a vote against all the perks for councillors such as exorbitant travel expenses, a vote against unfair rates, a vote against bullying behaviour in the council chambers, and a vote for having divisions in the future so every local community in Mackay gets a seat at the table.

If you’re in the Mackay regionand yet to vote, have a look at what Ian Christensen stands for:

End the perks.
Stop the bullying.
Bring back divisions.
And fairer rates.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINTS, MACKAY HARBOUR

Over a period of time complaints have been received from members of the public regarding motorcycles and four wheel drives being driving dangerously on the on the beach and sand dunes at the Mackay Harbour.

Police have undertaken enforcement action as a result of these complaints on several occasions.

On October 6 the opportunity arose for police to be involved in education and awareness on the same issue at the East Point Road access point.

Police spoke with members of the public and vehicle owners regarding relevant laws and shared as much information as possible.

Many thanks to everyone who spoke with officers on the day - it's hoped that days like these may reduce complaints and enforcement actions into the future.
