Day 1 Mackay CQ Observations.
To the track crew, volunteers, weather gods thankyou for providing a great track that held up all day.
Thanks for also not ripping the absolute s**t out start straight, every time I see it ripped i can hear the great Steve Dinsdale cursing, how it was done formed up absolutely mint, behind the gates weren't like concrete, track held up extremely well, although the right hand 90 into rollers does kill the flow of the track and makes the rollers harder to navigate now.
The racing was great, battles in every class with multiple lead changes, charges from the back after leaders fell off.
To all the kids, dont be sheep and follow the same lines when battling for lead, be creative, look for different lines, especially the split lane section, many passes could've been made but your all sheep, was also great to see them respect the yellow flag, maybe they got sick of being yelled at maybe?
I am excited for the new influx of Juniors into the senior class in 2026 because s**t there are some quick ones coming up.
