REAL WEDDING // Taylah + Daniel
Featured in Issue 32

Taylah and Daniel knew they wanted to get married in the Hunter Valley, but having grown up in the area they wanted something a little different from the popular vineyard setting. Leaves & Fishes mixed earthy European vogue with whimsical rainforest vibes.

“Our ceremony was deeply personal, centred on our love for each other and our families. We wrote our own vows and shared them in front of all our loved ones. My dad walked me down the aisle, and our siblings stood beside us as Maid of Honour and Best Man. Our mums signed our marriage certificate – we wanted them to have a special part in our day, too.

Our styling centred around rich reds and deep burgundies. Our florists – close family friends – completely took the reins, and the florals were the star of the show. We were obsessed. Mayd by Rhi led the creative direction, and we’re so grateful for her vision.

At my final gown fitting, I added THE BOW to my gown, which tied everything together. Dan’s suit was fully custom, tailored by Rundle Tailoring, with a vest featuring his family’s Scottish tartan. Being in the industry, I (Taylah) had an incredible network of vendors to lean on, for which I am very grateful, and they truly delivered.”

REAL WEDDING // Sabrina + Luka
Featured in Issue 32

Sabrina and Luka had originally envisioned a garden-style wedding, somewhere in Europe—perhaps France or Italy. But as they started looking into the logistics of an overseas wedding, it became clear it might be a stretch for them.

“After some research, we found that we could achieve our vision right here in the Hunter Valley. Of course, that meant finding the perfect venue - and there are lots of them! After looking all over the Hunter, we eventually met Tess and James at Wallalong House, and it was safe to say our dream wedding had started to come to life!

Our vision for the ceremony was romantic, elegant, and intimate. We wanted to emulate the charm of a garden party in the south of France.

We’re still receiving compliments from our guests about how incredible the food was. The love, effort, and sheer quality of every dish were undeniable—and truly unforgettable. We opted for a banquet-style dining experience instead of the traditional alternate drop.”

REAL WEDDING // Angelica + Ryan
Featured in Issue 32

Angelica and Ryan’s wedding was your typical Greek bride, Aussie groom match.

“If we had to describe our wedding, simply think Big Fat Greek Wedding. Our ceremony took place at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Hamilton, followed by a reception at the beautiful Stanley Park in Fullerton Cove.

I walked from my mum’s house to the ceremony with my entire family. There was dancing, plate smashing, and so much laughter and joy—it was incredible! The rest of our guests, along with Ryan, waited at the church to greet us. After shovelling all the confetti out of our hair, mouths, and clothes, our guests were transported to Stanley Park, where they enjoyed cocktail hour by the water while we took photos with our wedding party in the heart of Newcastle. We had a blast!

Our main goal for the reception? One big party! We wanted tasty, authentic food, great music, flowing drinks, and lots of fun!

Now, we look back at photos and videos of our day with such fond memories. Teresa brought the authentic moments to life in our wedding album. We often tell her—she is magic!”

REAL WEDDING // Rachael + Thomas
Featured in Issue 32

When looking for a wedding venue Tocal Homestead ticked all of Rachael and Thomas’ boxes.

“We were initially drawn to Tocal by its stunning natural landscape and rustic charm, but it was the warm hospitality of Aleisha and the team at Sprout Catering that truly won us over. Sprout not only provided incredible food on the day, but also offered seamless coordination services, making it easy to plan everything from Sydney.

For our reception our guests enjoyed shared platters of meats, sides, and salads. We loved this style of dining, as it allowed everyone to build their own plates and choose the dishes that appealed to them most. Around 10:00pm, Sprout served a late-night snack of roast ham rolls, which were a highlight for many guests and something we’d definitely recommend to other couples.

The White Tree offered an excellent package deal that included a photographer, videographer, and musicians - all of which we selected. We’re absolutely in love with the photos and videos - they captured everything perfectly, and we’ll cherish them forever.”

REAL WEDDING // Alana + Lachlan
Featured in Issue 32

When Alana and Lachlan began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted more than just a beautiful day – they wanted a true celebration. One that felt deeply personal, filled with joy, and unforgettable in every way.

“Pepper’s Creek Chapel & Barrel Room in the Hunter Valley was the perfect choice for our venue, exceeding every expectation. It was the ideal balance between elegance and rustic charm, and the incredible team at Pepper’s Creek made the entire process seamless and stress-free.

Our ceremony was held in the gorgeous sandstone chapel on-site, which is adorned with greenery and surrounded by lush vines.

Our reception was held in the Barrel Room, which has a warm, textural feel with timber beams, stone walls, and an open layout that worked well for both dinner and dancing.

We kept the styling simple and soft – neutral linens, mismatched glassware, taper candles, and delicate white florals. It gave the space a warm, intimate feel without overdoing it.

We opted for canapés followed by a buffet-style dinner, paired with beautiful wines, ensuring our guests were happy and well-fed. The team at Pepper’s Creek were amazing to deal with and kept everything running smoothly.”

Holly and Ben chose Eaglereach Weddings + Events as their wedding venue for its breathtaking mountaintop views over the valleys and trees, fantastic food, and affordable pricing.

“The convenience of having our ceremony, reception, and nearby accommodations all in one place made it the perfect choice.

Our ceremony was a small, intimate gathering of family and close friends, set outdoors amidst stunning greenery that perfectly complemented our color palette. We added a touch of elegance with a champagne toast, and Eaglereach provided the ideal setting to bring our vision to life.

Our reception was an unforgettable celebration, featuring a chic cocktail bar with custom ‘his and hers’ drinks, a lively cocktail hour on the balcony overlooking breathtaking mountain views, and an incredible dance floor that set the stage for an unforgettable party.”

REAL WEDDING // Megghan + Scott
Featured in Issue 32

When Megghan and Scott got engaged, they were living together in Perth but were often apart due to Scott’s work. Planning our wedding was no different.

“Wanting to be close to family and friends, we chose the Hunter Valley and relied on Zoom, phone calls, and loved ones visiting venues until we found the perfect one.

Ben Ean’s garden terrace offered a stunning view, and we fell in love with it instantly. We booked the venue without seeing it in person and finally visited a few months later—it truly brought our vision to life. The wines were incredible, and we knew our guests would enjoy them just as much. The team were fantastic to work with, supporting us every step of the way and helping bring our ceremony and reception to life.

Nicole and Jordan from Crottison were the true stars of our day. Their professionalism—both in the lead-up and on the day itself—was flawless, all while keeping things light and fun. We couldn’t have chosen a better duo to capture our wedding. The beautiful photos and videos they created are something we’ll treasure forever.”

Jessica and Ryan chose Château Élan Hunter Valley as their wedding venue, not only for its breathtaking beauty, but also for the exceptional service provided by its staff.

“From our very first visit, the event coordinator made a lasting impression with her professionalism, flexibility, and warm hospitality.

It was important to us to have our ceremony, reception, and accommodation all in one location, and Château Élan exceeded our expectations in every way.

Our wedding ceremony took place in the beautiful chapel, where we exchanged our vows surrounded by our closest family and friends. It was such a heartfelt and intimate moment, made even more special by the stunning backdrop.

Our reception was held in The Barrington Room at Château Élan, where we celebrated the night away with our loved ones. The food was nothing short of incredible—saying our guests were well-fed would be an understatement.

The entire team at Château Élan went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly special.”

REAL WEDDING // Albany + Jesse
Featured in Issue 32

Albany and Jesse knew they wanted to get married somewhere closer to home, and The Springs just ticked all of their boxes.

“The Springs is a stunning wedding location. With its breathtaking photo locations, impeccable food, and relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, it was the perfect place to celebrate our love with family and friends.”

The ceremony was our favourite part of the day. We shared a blend of traditional vows along with some we had written ourselves.

Our reception was full of fun, dancing, and some of the most beautiful speeches we’ve ever heard. After cutting our gorgeous cake, we danced the night away.

It was really important to me to have a piece of my late older brother, Chris, with me. Yellow has always been his colour. When he passed in 2019, we filled the house with every yellow flower we could find. It became his colour – a symbol of his life and all the fun and joy he brought to ours. So, there were touches of yellow throughout my bouquet, adorned with beautiful butter-yellow raw silk. He was with me all day.”

STYLED SHOOT // Love + Lemons
Featured in Issue 32

Captured at The Sienna, this styled shoot channels the romance, elegance and effortless charm of a European celebration. Nestled within a flourishing olive grove, the scene is set for a sun-drenched affair, complete with golden light, rustic textures, and luxurious Tuscan-inspired touches.

A standout feature of the day was the show-stopping limoncello spritz tower – a playful and refreshing twist on the traditional champagne toast.

Bright yellow lemons added a vibrant contrast to the soft, romantic palette of creamy whites and delicate blue blooms. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, coming together to inspire those dreaming of a destination-style wedding in the Hunter.

Maddie and Tim both grew up on the Central Coast, and with family spread across multiple states in Australia, they knew they wanted to get married close to home so everyone could come and enjoy their slice of paradise.

“Enter Glenworth Valley! It was the perfect mix of modern venue and beautiful bush retreat. We felt instantly at home.

Our ceremony was at the beautiful lookout location, surrounded by hundreds of gum trees and with stunning views overlooking the valley.

Our reception was held just down the hill at the Glenworth Valley function centre, and it was so much fun! The food provided by Glenworth’s on-site chefs was absolutely amazing.

Our florist, Cody curated a stunning colour palette of yellow and white. She created sheer perfection, seamlessly blending the florals between our ceremony and reception. The result was magical.”

As soon as Keryn and Art visited Bimbadgen Palmers Lane, they instantly fell in love.

“The stunning barn doors and detailed brickwork were everything we had envisioned as the perfect backdrop for our ceremony.

Our wedding ceremony was truly one to remember - filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt emotion.

Our reception was everything we had ever dreamed of – and more. The tables were beautifully decorated with black tube vases and clear stem vases, each holding white roses, along with votive and taper candles. This created a timeless and classic feel, complemented by a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Our portrait shots left us absolutely speechless. Bimbadgen offers the perfect backdrop no matter where you are on the property—from the mountains and the sunset to the venue entrance, everything was simply breathtaking.”
