It’s wild to me that the only time we start truly acknowledging the value of our educators…
is when they leave the classroom.
When they strike.
When they stop saying yes to burnout.

I remember the whispers in the staff room.
The pressure from leadership to “keep the peace.”
The guilt-tripping from parents about disruption.
The worry about what happens when we speak up.

But let me ask you this:
What happens when we don’t?

What happens when another teacher breaks?
When another nervous system crashes?
When the classroom absorbs yet another emotional collapse that no one talks about?

This isn’t just about pay.
This is about being asked to give more than you have day after day and being gaslit into thinking it’s just part of the job.

If you’re a teacher in QLD striking today, I stand with you.
And if you’re not in education but you feel this in your bones, this post is for you too.

✨ You’re allowed to say, “I deserve more.”
✨ You’re allowed to choose your wellbeing.
✨ You’re allowed to stop carrying systems that refuse to carry you back.

There was no concern when I was burnt out, stretched thin, running on fumes, and celebrated for it.

But now that I’ve slowed down…
Now that I’ve claimed my peace, my power, my presence…
Suddenly that’s what people are concerned about?

This one’s for the woman who’s still doing everything for everyone and being praised for losing herself in the process.

The woman who knows something needs to change but keeps pushing through.

The one who’s questioning whether she’s allowed to want more or less … more presence, less pressure.
More alignment, less performance.
