🔥 Bushfire Advice - AVOID THE AREA - COOLOONGUP, WAIKIKI and WARNBRO 🔥

Date of issue: 02:53 PM, 31 Dec 2025.

Please see changes throughout the alert, including some warning areas and action statements. The previous Watch and Act warning area has been downgraded to Advice and Ennis Road is now open with reduced speed limits in place.

⚠️ A Bushfire Advice is in place for people in the north west corner of Lake Walyungup, including Warnbro Train Station, and in southern parts of Rockingham Lakes Regional Park and Lake Coolongup Reserve in parts of WARNBRO and WAIKIKI in the CITY OF ROCKINGHAM.

⚠ There is no threat to lives or homes.

❗ WHAT TO DO ❗

- If possible, do not enter the warning area until it has been confirmed safe.
- Continue to stay alert and monitor your surroundings.
- Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.
- Be aware of other potential dangers such as falling trees and damaged properties and infrastructure.
- Close all doors and windows and stay inside if smoke is causing you concern.
- Be ready if the situation escalates. Read through your plan. If you do not have a plan, make one now on Emergency WA emergency.wa.gov.au/plan or in the Emergency WA app.

If driving:

- Turn your headlights on and drive slowly.
- Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.
- If you cannot see clearly, pull over, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
- If you have a respiratory condition and you have been affected by smoke you should contact your local doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.

- The bushfire is currently moving slowly in a south-westerly direction.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES AND CONDITIONS 🚧

Ennis Avenue between Wilmott Drive and Royal Palm Drive is now open.

Safety Bay Road between Mandurah Road and Ennis Avenue is stiil closed

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.

🚨 WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING 🚨

- Firefighters are consolidating containment lines and mopping up.
- 50 Career Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service and Bush Fire Service volunteers are in attendance.
- Aerial support has been sent to assist ground crews.
- Community members are required to remain clear of any area where aircraft are operating. This includes while refilling with water away from the fireground.

🚁 DRONES AND AERIAL SUPPORT 🚁

Never fly a drone, model aircraft or multirotor near bushfires. Doing so poses a major safety risk to firefighting personnel in the air and on the ground, and forces aircraft to be grounded or redirected, hindering firefighting efforts.

🚆 MANDURAH TRAIN LINE SERVICE DISRUPTION 🚆

Trains on the Mandurah Line between Mandurah and Rockingham have resumed service, however due to continued road closures around Warnbro Station, train services will bypass Warnbro until later in the day. Please refer to the Transperth website http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/.../Service-Update.../23319 for further information.

Warnbro Station, including the car park is currently closed and cannot be accessed by members of the public. We are aware that a number of vehicles remain in the car park and access will be reinstated as soon as the area is safe.
