Stop Folding Kids’ Laundry — Try This Instead 👀

Doing laundry for a family of 5 used to be one of my least favourite chores — especially folding tiny clothes over and over again 😅

With three little ones (10, 4, and 2), no matter how neatly I folded everything, it would be messed up within minutes anyway. They’d dig through drawers, I’d end up picking outfits myself… and the cycle just kept repeating.

So I tried a simple little hack — and honestly, it’s been a game changer.

Instead of folding everything, I got each of my kids their own cube boxes. Each cube is labelled by type: shorts, shirts, un**es, socks, etc. Then each set of cubes has their name on it.

Now I just sort and toss the clothes straight into the right box. No more endless folding. No more messy drawers five minutes later 🙌

And here’s the part I love most — as they’re getting older, I’ve started sticking photos of each type of clothing on the boxes. It makes it super easy for them to recognise what goes where. Even my 2-year-old can tell which clothes belong in which box (with a little help from me of course 🥰).

Yes, some clothes get a bit wrinkly — but it’s mostly their everyday/play clothes anyway. Their nicer “going out” outfits are still hung up, ironed, and ready in the wardrobe.

Laundry feels so much less overwhelming now, and the kids are starting to be more independent with it too 💛

Has anyone else ditched folding for something easier? Or am I late to the party? 😄
