Specialists in mathematics education. Our books are used in over 175 countries! Some of these same books reached sixth editions.
Haese Mathematics, formerly Haese & Harris Publications, is a family-owned publishing company specialising in Mathematics textbooks and accompanying software for schools and students. The business began in 1979 when classroom teachers Bob and Sandra Haese, together with Kim Harris, started work on their first textbooks. These books were written for South Australian schools and were typed on a type
writer with hand-drawn diagrams. Modest beginnings, but teachers were quick to recognise the quality of the content in these early, unpretentious publications. Second editions were published in the mid-1980s, and 3rd editions followed in the early 1990s. In 2004, we launched new textbooks for the IB Diploma Mathematics courses. We were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to our books. As a result, in 2008 we extended our IB series to cover the Middle Years Programme. We continue to write new editions of books in these series as the curriculum frameworks are revised. New textbooks for the Diploma Programme change (first teaching mid-2019), as well as additional resources such as fully worked solutions and revision guides, are now available. In 2009 we published a book for the new course ‘Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics (0607) Extended’. This was followed by a book for the Core course and in 2014 we published another book addressing the Cambridge Additional Mathematics (4037) course. We have since released updated editions for the 0607 Extended and 4037 Additional Mathematics courses, all of which are endorsed by Cambridge Assessment International Education. When the Australian government introduced a uniform Australian Curriculum in 2010, Haese Mathematics released The Mathematics for Australia series aligned to the requirements. The series now covers Years 2 to 12, with worked solutions and homework books available at most levels. Teacher resource books are available for Years 2, 3 and 4. Refreshed second editions will be released from early 2021 onwards, updated to reflect the lessons learnt from over 10 years with the curriculum. In 2017, we published two books for the revised UK GCE Advanced level (A level) Mathematics course, followed by GCSE Foundation and our future release, GCSE Higher. All of the books are warehoused in our pack and dispatch facility in Bristol, United Kingdom for UK customers. We were excited and honoured to be awarded the 2017 Business SA Export Award for Education and Training. The award recognises outstanding innovation and international success in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum including vocational training. We are proud to know that our books have reached students in over 150 countries. The outstanding characteristic of our company is an unrelenting commitment to produce the best possible resources for mathematics education in schools. We are great believers in the value of global education and its importance in producing a more peaceful world. To this end, in 2013 we began sponsoring the Central Asia Institute and its mission to provide schools in areas lacking infrastructure. At the same time we also wish to acknowledge elite students and encourage their further academic development. We are therefore proud to be sponsors of the World Mathematics Championships, and the High Four Mathematics Competition.

We are aware of recent changes to the Cambridge Additional Mathematics IGCSE® (0606) curriculum for first examination from 2025.
As these changes are minimal, we have chosen not to produce a new edition title at this point in time.
We feel that our current 2nd edition publication adequately covers the majority of the course.
If you have any questions, please contact us.

Haese Mathematics is a family-owned publishing company specialising in mathematics textbooks and accompanying software for schools and students.
The company was founded in 1979 by Robert and Sandra Haese with Kim Harris, all of whom were practising classroom teachers. Robert and Sandra are continually driven by their commitment to the mathematical education of young people and their belief in the importance of good quality resources.
Early editions of our textbooks were widely used throughout South Australian Schools, with teachers quickly recognising the high quality of the content.
In 2004, Haese Mathematics launched a new series for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. This series is aimed at preparing students, aged 16 to 19, for success at University and beyond. These textbooks received a very enthusiastic response from teachers around the world. Third editions of these textbooks were released in 2012. A new series that recognises the changes to be implemented for first teaching in 2019 is currently being prepared.
Following the success of our IB Diploma textbooks, Haese Mathematics published a Pre-diploma textbook in 2006 and then a full IB Middle Years series in 2008. This programme is designed for students aged 11 to 16. The programme provides a framework of learning, while accommodating most national or local curricula. New editions of our MYP textbooks were released in 2014.
In 2009 Haese Mathematics published a textbook for the new 'Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics (0607) Extended' course. Cambridge IGCSE is an international curriculum for 14 to 16 year olds, preparing students for British A levels and other pre-University courses. This book was supported by an Exam Preparation and Practice Guide. We received overwhelming interest in this textbook and in 2011 published a second book in the series 'Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics (0607) Core'. All three books in this series are endorsed by Cambridge International Examinations. Our CIE endorsed range was added to in 2014 with the introduction of Additional Mathematics which was written for the IGCSE (0606) and O Level (4037) courses.
Our series to support the Australian Curriculum, 'Mathematics for Australia' now covers grades 3 to 12. This series has seen continued support throughout South Australia and has been sold into all states and territories. The grade 3 and 4 books are our first ‘write-on’ work books and are accompanied by Teacher Resource books. We aim to release work books for grades 1 and 2 within the next 18 months.
In 2017, we released the first book in a series of 4 to support students and teachers of the updated UK A Level course. Advanced Mathematics 1 for AS and A Level will shortly be joined by Advanced Mathematics 2 for A Level. Books to support the teaching of GCSE will follow. To assist our UK customers, these books are warehoused with Radius Logistics in Bristol, UK.
The quality of our books is recognised globally and can be found in over 150 countries. Our in-house author team of dedicated mathematicians led now by Michael Haese, work hard to ensure that our books are the most accurate and consistent books available to promote excellence in mathematics education.
