Sunshine FM 104.9 Sunshine Coast

Sunshine FM 104.9 Sunshine Coast The Sunshine Coast's community radio station
playing the music you love. Sunshine FM is the most listened-to radio station on the Sunshine Coast.

We're a not-for-profit broadcaster supported by community-minded businesses and organisations, right across the Sunshine Coast. We run just five minutes of paid content an hour, compared to 20+ minutes on other stations. For our listeners, that means more music, more memories, more often. For our sponsors, it means we help them reach more people than any other radio station on The Coast. We are al

so supported by wonderful volunteers who provide their time and skills in on-air, production, technical and administrative roles. Please visit our website (sunshinefm.com.au) to find out how you can connect with Sunshine FM as a volunteer, a member, a donor or a sponsor. If you like what we do, spread the word about this great little radio station you've discovered! But most of all, we'd like to thank you for your support. It is always appreciated.

Tonight, on Bob and the Baby Boomer, I'll play a track by The Rolling Stones that featured Charlie Watts on drums as he was born on this day in 1941 in Middlesex, England. It was on this day in 2001 that The Easybeats song "Friday On My Mind" was named by APRA as Australia's best song of the past 75 years. I can't argue with that and tonight I'll play that song on Bob and the Baby Boomers. John Fogerty from Credence Clearwater Revival turns 81 today so I'll play their #5 hit song from 1969, music from The Four Seasons from 1965, a song from 1956 from Sugar Pie & P*e Wee (a bit of a rocker too), The Beatles with have you doing a bit of "Rock and Roll Music", Chuck Berry doesn't really have any particular place to go, Big Joe Turner is "Feeling Happy" from 1956, Gene Vincent and his Bluecaps will ask you to "Dance To The Bop" and heaps of other great songs from the 50's & 60's tonight as well. So, join me from 8.00pm for the best two hours of music from the era of the baby boomers on 104.9 SunshineFM

Born Norma Egstron in Jamestown, North Dakota on this day in 1920, the pictured artist had her biggest hit in 1958 with the song "Fever" recorded under the name of Peggy Lee. I'll play that song tonight on Bob and the Baby Boomers. I'll get the music underway tonight with a hit for The Rolling Stones in 1969 which became a double-sided hit for them and follow it up with a song by The Temptations from 1966. Music also from Mel Torme, Bob Dylan, Nancy Sinatra, Johnny O'Keefe with a #1 hit for him in 1963, Buck Owens with a song from 1956 initially released under the name of Corky Jones, Joe Cocker with a song from 1969 which was a cover of a Beatles song from the same year and a great selection of other songs from the 50's & 60's. So, join me from 8.00pm for two hours of the best songs from a generation that won't be forgotten on 104.9 SunshineFM or on the iHeart Radio app
