I was reviewing a brand’s Klaviyo account this week, and it reminded me why so many founders hit a wall with email.

They know it’s important.
They want it to work.
But between running the business, managing socials, and juggling everything else, email ends up being handed off to the wrong person or half-done.

Which can leave you feeling like email isn’t “right for you” because you’re not getting the results you hoped for.

And I was honestly gutted when didn’t want to reunite with the group but after watching her doco, it all makes SO MUCH sense.

From a business and branding perspective, she’s genius. The discipline, the self-awareness, the long game. I’m in awe.

I’ve been thinking about how fashion brands are missing out on the opportunity to use their emails as a social media channel compared to selling all the time.

This Billini email campaign sparked this idea and here’s my thoughts on how fashion brands can use email marketing like social media to inspire, not just sell.

She already had her emails set up but like most founders, they were DIY’d just to have “something”.

The backend was messy, half the emails were sending from Shopify, the rest from Klaviyo… it just didn’t feel like the brand she was building.

I cleaned it up all - organised her Klaviyo, create a working pop-up, and rebuilt her emails so they looked aesthetic and encouraged shoppers to buy!

30 days later? Sales from just one flow grew over 500%.

And email was hitting the goal of making at least 30% of total revenue - in just 30 DAYS!

Still soaking up the newlywed bubble🤍

But what most people don’t know is that Silk Digital probably wouldn’t exist without him.

From the very start, he’s been the one pushing me to dream bigger, encouraging me to move out of my hometown, take the leap with uni (even when it meant adding an extra year), start new jobs, return to old ones, and eventually launch my business.

He’s been my rock ✨ emotionally, financially, and professionally.

I’m the delulu dreamer, and he’s the one balancing me out with logic (most of the time 😅).

I’ve been reflecting a lot lately, and one thing that’s really been highlighted is just how important it is to have the right people in your life.

So many brands exist because of a strong support system and so many don’t survive because of the wrong advice or voices steering them off track.

That’s really one of the reasons behind why I started Silk.

I want to be the right person in your corner. To back your vision, not water it down. Because there are too many others out there taking advantage of brands for their financial benefit. 🥺

I heard something on a podcast the other day and I can’t stop thinking about it!

The General Manager of this hugely successful Aussie supplement brand said:

“We don’t make products for ourselves. We make them for our customers.”

And I instantly thought about how often I hear brand owners say the same thing about their marketing!

“I don’t do email marketing because I don’t open emails”

Okay… but are you trying to sell to yourself?

Or to the people who actually buy from you?

You’re thinking too much like a business owner, not a buyer. And it’s holding you back because you don’t want to be “annoying”.

They’re literally waiting for a reason to buy IF you show up the right way.

So if your product was made for them…
