Shelley Davidow didn't just visit Melbourne - she absolutely transformed it! ✍️

Those 4 student workshops with Year 7 & 8 cohorts? Pure magic. ✨

Using the activities and prompts straight from 'Write Now!', every single student wrote something. They didn't just participate - they engaged, they shared, they asked questions. Watching young minds light up with creative possibility? That's the Shelley effect in full swing. 🌟

And that Teacher PD session at Ripponlea Primary? Beyond special doesn't even begin to cover it. 📝

Everyone wrote. Let that sink in for a moment.

Working through 3 'Write Now!' prompts together, teachers who hadn't picked up a creative pen since their own school days found themselves writing again. Some discovered they actually could write. Others remembered why they fell in love with words in the first place. It was uncomfortable in the best possible way - that beautiful discomfort of growth, of stepping outside comfort zones, of remembering what it feels like to be vulnerable on the page. ✍️

This is why Shelley's work matters so deeply. When teachers experience the Write Now! prompts themselves, they see that writing isn't some mysterious skill reserved for 'real writers' - it's something their own teachers do, struggle with, celebrate, and share. It becomes permission. It becomes possibility. 🌟

What an incredible evening at the Antipodes Theatre Company! Just witnessed the industry reading of “Clancy of the Outback: A Musical Adventure”. The brilliant rhyming, singing adaptation of the 12-book Clancy series, by Phil Kettle and Bob Andersen, bringing the warmth and humor of outback Australia to the stage for young audiences. 🦘

The four-member cast delivered a captivating full read/sing-through that had everyone in the room buzzing with excitement. There’s something truly special about seeing these warm, funny stories of Clancy’s outback life come alive through music and performance - and it’s clear this production will have particular appeal for young boys who’ll love Clancy’s adventures! 🐨

The industry turnout was fantastic, and you could feel the enthusiasm in the room as this homegrown musical adventure unfolded. It’s wonderful to see this series bought to the stage. 🎭
