General Strike operates at the frontier between screen, art and events. We create screen-based experiences that engage curiosity, challenge preconceptions and celebrate beauty in unexpected places. We want General Strike projects, whether big or small, to create small moments of joy and ignite the imagination. Our next film THE GIANTS will be released in 2023.

New Banksy outside London Court of Justice 😇

Judge beating with their hammer a protester holding a sign. As always Banksy’s image is worth a thousand words.

The violent repression of climate and anti-genocide protesters in the UK and Australia is an offense to our democracies. More than ever it’s time to

THE GIANTS is screening in Taiwan this week ecological film festival.

We particularly like the title in pictogram - can you spot the 'tree'?

We have really enjoyed the warm welcome and Taiwanese hospitality. And the chance to connect with engaging audiences and meet other film professionals all grappling with the same questions - how do we make the world great again - for all species?

Fascinating films and loads of inspiration. If you are in Khaoshuing our co-Director Rachael Antony will be talking this Sunday at 2pm with Taiwanese forest experts.

Many Asian cultures revere ancient trees - perhaps Australia could learn something?

All that’s wrong with this government in one line! Their motus operandi in action:
1. Go against the will of 75% of Australians who want the logging of our old growth forests to end (and the 80% of Labor and Greens voters who have put them in their jobs).
2. Put the interests of lobbies and small, nasty polluting, unsustainable industries (whether Forestry NSW or Tasmanian salmon) ahead of people’s health and interests
2. Prepared to use any tricks and loopholes to go around court decisions that don’t go their way but design new laws to jail anyone who doesn’t agree with what they do.
3. Consistently ignore the science.

They are just not fit to govern.
No one is holding the hose.
It’s time for a third way.
