A training run to Stony Point, having been previously qualified to long Island Junction, was cool to see the rest of the line from the cab down to the end right on the shore of western Port Bay.
On the return being already qualified to Frankston and being 3 up for training, i went for a spin on Ev120, finally seeing what actually goes on in that test car.. π³
I was fascinated by the level of detail, and how it can take images of rail defects at up to maximum speed of 120kmh, detailed track data, overhead data, even sleeper condition and ballast quality, and the computers learn to spot defects and report what is and isn't necessary.. So it can be sent off for review and highlight areas for repairs in order of importance.
A very cool piece of machinery indeed and the men and women that crew ev120 are absolute professionals, it's always a pleasure working with them.
