“Miss Chinese” to set sail at Victoria Harbour DOCKLANDS!
$128 billion in trade, 150,000 student enrolments and 626,000 arrivals, these are the figures that make up the sophisticated relationship between Australia and China in 2012. Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s current trip to China signifies the importance of China to the Australian cultural and economic landscape.
The 2013 Phoenix Satellite TV Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant Australia Division Competitions (2013 MCCP) Launch Ceremony was held on board the luxury cruise liner Kingfisher at DOCKLANDS on Friday, 5th of April 2013, at 7 pm. The launch of the vessel was a symbolic representation for the start of the Australian region competitions. The ceremony was attended by nearly 200 invited guests including guests from political circles, social groups, Women’s Cancer Foundation, corporations and media.
In order to accentuate the societal benefits of the event, the Committee will cooperate with the Women’s Cancer Foundation in 2013 to elect a Charity Ambassador from the competition contestants. She will assist the Women’s Cancer Foundation throughout the year in raising funds and awareness for the cause. This serves to bring the issue of ovarian cancer to the attention the Chinese community, allowing them to broaden their audience base and better serve the whole community. Throughout the competition, the ambassador also will be involved in a range of charitable activities to boost the social significance of the foundation via the 2013 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant platform.
The Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant, from its initial stages, emphasises the concept of perfect combination of beauty and intellect; both extrinsic and intrinsic values. It seeks to form close links with charitable and social organisations through involvement with the abovementioned organisations. This enables Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant to not only cement its place within the Australian events calendar, but also provide valuable contributions to Australian society and economy.
