It cannot be put into words how much fun was had shooting this interview and how exciting it is to finally share it with the world! A special thanks goes out to the people at RMIT who provided us with the knowledge and resources that helped us in effectively planning and conducting this project, to all the crew that were involved in shooting the interview, and of course to Luis Enrique Ascui for taking the time to come and tell us his story. This project would not have been possible if it weren’t for all of you!

Adding some final touches to The Luis Ascui Interview ahead of its release in 2 days. A reminder that until the end of the week, you can ask any questions regarding the interview production on our previous post and the interview producer/director Freddie Ponce de Leon will do his best to answer them.

In anticipation of The Luis Ascui Interview coming out this Friday (May 26th), we have decided to host an online Q&A with the Producer/Director, Freddie Ponce de Leon. From today until the end of the week, Freddie will be answering questions asked about the interview; from the production process, to the crew involved, to the details surrounding the interview's release. If you want to ask any questions, leave them in the comment section below!

Only 1 week left until the release of the Luis Ascui Interview! We put a lot of work into putting this interview together and we are so excited to share Luis's story with everybody. Hopefully anybody out there who aspires to become a photographer and travel across the world will be inspired by Luis's amazing stories and learn a lot from his words of advice as a person who has worked in this field for so many years.

Luis Enrique Ascui is a Chilean photojournalist currently based in Melbourne, Australia. For nearly 30 years he has travelled all across the globe to capture the events of political turmoil such as war, riots, protests and poverty as well as natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. Luis captures these events with the intention of portraying all sides involved in an unbiased manner in order to have everybody's story told truthfully through the lens. Last month we had the honour of conducting an interview with Luis in order to learn more about his career, how he took on photojournalism in the first place, and what it's like being behind the camera in the middle of such confronting environments. The interview is officially set to be released on May 26th 2023!
