Amica Records is proud to announce the release of ’s cathartic ‘Cantata No. 1: An Island Seen and Felt’ 🎉 the album is out now on all streaming platforms as well available to order direct from Jon on CD or LP on
This wondrous album takes the listener gently by the hand, and guides them through a nostalgic yearning for home, brought to life by an ensemble of leading New York early music and jazz artists.
It is, in many ways, a tone poem evoking images of the ocean: reflecting Jon’s childhood on Victoria’s surf coast and fear and beauty found in the ocean.
We urge you to play this album in full and experience Jon’s weaving of renaissance counterpoint with jazz improvisation. It is a landmark and inimitable record, but most importantly to us, it is kind and beautiful music.

Thank you .records for sending us some excellent merch all the way from Canada, and congrats to Nic, Évo and on the launch of ! .records is honoured to be a part of your world 💗
After I took this photo I put the hat in my backpack, and for the first time in my life, my banana got squished in there and now it’s a kind of uniquely Aussie fruit x Canadian neoclassical collab hat 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m going to interpret this as being a good luck sign, like when a bird poops on you.
I was going to wash it, but has decided to wear it as is. So the good luck charm remains. I’d like my hat back soon tho.
Where did I end up with this post? I digress. Again. Congrats to all!!

’s single ‘Movement 3’ is released this Friday, and a huge thanks to for putting this release into beautiful words, and in particular capturing that feeling of the ocean, which inspired the music at the deepest level.

Amica Records is thrilled to announce a forthcoming album release by New York-based composer/saxophonist !

‘Cantata No. 1: An Island Seen and Felt’ is a staggeringly beautiful album - recorded with an ensemble of leading artists from New York’s jazz and early music scenes, including Rachel Mikol and a string quartet.

It brings together Jon’s intimate knowledge of Renaissance counterpoint with jazz improvisation, impressionism and ambient effects. The album reflects upon Jon’s childhood on the Australian Surf Coast as an expat yearning for home in the era of closer borders. It is a powerful listen, especially knowing the expat experience of the US is fraught with many big feelings once more.

The album will be released digitally by Amica on 23 May, with a single, Movement 3, released on April 25. Jon will also have some vinyl and CDs for sale.

We’re grateful to be sharing in this journey releasing such incredible music to the world 🙌

The suite of skills an artist, producer or engineer requires in the music industry is wide-ranging, ever-changing, and well beyond what we learned at music school (if we went to one).
