I really wanted to show off my battle vest properly, because it’s been so long in the making, with patches being collected over the past few years.
The pockets on this were fake… and I wanted them inside anyway, so that it didn’t take away from patch space. So my wonderful friend Laura stitched those in for me with some spare fabric.
We used double sided transfer to iron on all the patches, and then I’ve gone in with hand stitching, (extra reinforcement, but also as someone with a chronic illness that impacts joints and muscles, this meant I didn’t have to meticulously stitch everything and hurt myself in the process, and could instead do some initial stitching, and always go back in later if I need to) and Laura machine sewed the back patch and little Cthulhu’s for me, because they were taken from shirts.
I’ve used some screw in studs for some bling, and added a few pops of colour here and there to my own taste.
I have some more patches I didn’t feel ended up fitting well, so I’ve left gaps on the back for now, and that just means I have some space to do some more collecting before it’s finished, and some patches for another project down the track. But it’s at least finished for now. 😊🤘🏻
And eventually… it’s going to need a Sin and Steel patch as well.
Next will be the rainbow jacket, but that one’s going to take much more work.😅
