Here’s what I wish I did more of back then — and why it matters now:
1) Read a variety of books - I focused more on fantasy books and novels. But 20s is the best age to do self discovery and self development to prepare yourself for work culture.
2) Workout consistently - I did walking, yoga and swimming but they were intermittent. I wish I went to the gym for strength training especially with the level of physical strength required after childbirth.
3) Cook at home more - I relied mostly on take aways and convenience meals. Often they were either expensive or had less nutritional value. Home cooking would’ve saved me more and nourished me well.
4) Focus on one hobby - I was doing bits and pieces of everything - blog, exercise, read - but not doing any of them consistently. If I had a choice, I’d focus on a practical hobby like hair cutting, beauty therapy or explore short vocational courses.
5) Save and invest early - No matter how much money you make, if you don’t save first, no amount of salary will be enough. As I increased my salary, I increased my expenses too. New phone and eating out often were my biggest regrets. If I saved and invested early on, it would’ve grown exponentially by now.
Did you do any of these too? What else can you add?
