Reality capture is becoming faster and more scalable, with NavVis launching a new handheld device for everyday as-built documentation.

NavVis CLX combines dual LiDAR, live 2D and 3D coverage feedback and documentation-grade point clouds, targeting high-volume surveying, site assessment and Scan-to-CAD/BIM workflows.

“With NavVis CLX, we are introducing a new device that bridges a critical gap in the market,” NavVis co-founder and chief technology officer Georg Schroth said.

NavVis, the source of spatial truth for the built world, is setting new standards for capturing and documenting with NavVis CLX.

Data-driven maintenance is changing how underground mines manage equipment availability, with smarter insights helping teams act before failures disrupt production.

Komatsu is bringing service expertise, machine data, condition monitoring and component histories together to help mining operations move from reactive maintenance towards more predictive and planned support.

“The goal isn’t simply to repair equipment faster, it’s to understand what’s happening earlier,” Komatsu national service and training manager Wikus Louw said.

Komatsu is supporting mine operations to become future-proof with data-driven maintenance systems that provide greater asset insights.

A new program is aiming to build a job-ready mining workforce across regional Victoria.

Resources Victoria has launched the Mining Pathways program with SuniTAFE and the Minerals Council of Australia, providing training through Swan Hill, Mildura and online.

The program comes as new mineral sands projects are expected to create thousands of jobs across the Wimmera and Mallee over the coming decades.

Focus Minerals has intersected 30.48g/t gold at Green Light as it works to define an open-pit opportunity in WA.

The 3m high-grade intersection was among results from 114 RC infill holes totalling 8,968m, with drilling targeting areas of the 45,600oz resource considered most amenable to open-pit mining.

Stanmore Resources is adding 724Mt of metallurgical coal resources to its Bowen Basin development portfolio.

The company has agreed to acquire the Moranbah South tenements from Exxaro Resources for $US105 million ($145 million), with the assets sitting alongside Stanmore’s Eagle Downs and Isaac Downs Extension projects.

“The acquisition of the Moranbah South tenements will represent a significant milestone for Stanmore’s development portfolio, increasing our resource base and strengthening the platform to deliver on our future growth aspirations,” Stanmore CEO Marcelo Matos said.

Brightstar Resources has hit its highest-grade gold assay to date, with 751g/t returned from drilling at Sandstone in WA.

The result came from the Bull Oak deposit within a broader 7m at 119g/t gold intersection, as Brightstar continues drilling ahead of the Sandstone pre-feasibility study.

“The latest Bull Oak results contain some spectacular grades, including the highest single assay Brightstar has intersected at Sandstone, 751g/t gold,” Brightstar managing director Alex Rovira said.

Brightstar Resources has recorded its highest individual gold assay to date at the Sandstone gold project from the Bull Oak deposit.

Drilling has returned gold-equivalent grades of up to 62.6g/t at Larvotto’s Clarks Gully prospect in NSW.

Results from the first 10 holes of a 16-hole diamond program indicate mineralisation remains open at depth and south of the existing resource, with multiple parallel structures also identified.

“The program, completed within the granted Mining License 1332, has returned multiple zones of high-grade gold-antimony-tungsten mineralisation, confirming that the system remains open at depth,” Larvotto managing director Ron Heeks said.

Larvotto has returned high-grade gold at Clarks Gully, strengthening the case at its Hillgrove antimony-gold operation in New South Wales.

Forrestania Resources has completed its $300 million acquisition of the Edna May Gold Project in Western Australia.

The deal gives Forrestania a second processing hub alongside Lake Johnston, with the company targeting combined milling capacity of more than 6Mtpa following refurbishment and recommissioning.

“Edna May provides Forrestania with a second established processing hub and an established platform from which to accelerate our transition to becoming a significant Western Australian gold producer,” Forrestania executive chairman David Geraghty said.

Polymetals has added more than one million tonnes of sulphide mineralisation to Endeavor’s resource base in NSW.

The updated resource now stands at 20.7Mt at 7.5% zinc, 4.2% lead and 82g/t silver, despite ongoing mine depletion and a more conservative density assumption.

“The Upper Main Lode is proof that this approach works. We developed a new geological interpretation, drilled it systematically and have now converted that concept into additional mineral resource,” Polymetals executive exploration director Jess Oram said.

Polymetals Resources has expanded the mineral resource of its Endeavour mine in NSW, adding over 1 million tonnes of sulphide mineralisation.
