A major electrification project is being undertaken by Ok Tedi Mining Limited to help reinforce its continued commitment to Western Province.

South Pacific Metals Corp. is accelerating exploration activities this year with a second drill rig set to be introduced at the Ontenu project in the Kainantu District.

The new rig forms part of the company's exploration plans, with CEO Timo Jauristo noting the project's potential for greater growth.

“Most production costs remain relatively fixed, apart from inflation. When commodity prices rise sharply, the country must also benefit through appropriate tax returns and dividends," Marape said.
