The sweetest thing I saw today was a mum and her two little girls getting out of a car in Turnham Green, with flags and George Crosses painted on their cheeks. I asked them where they had come from. The mum replied, Dorchester. That’s in Dorset; miles away! She then asked me the best way to get to Buckingham Palace, so I showed her on Google Maps.
I was so moved. I hope those little girls never forget today and how their mum drove them all the way to London to see and cheer the Lionesses.

Learning about the history of Ireland while on holiday on the Emerald Isle. .

Taking a break from work over the school summer holidays. First stop Dublin as we travel across Ireland to visit the Wild Atlantic Way costal region. Simply had to stop by McDowell’s Jeweler and Watch Makers, opened in the 19th century by John McDowell, a migrant from Scotland. Fun! 🤩

My book recommendation for July comes early in the month so that you can grab a copy to read on holiday. Goodness, what a great book!

The philosopher (Adler) talks to the youth and is pressed to explain how to be happy.

It’ll might be a challenging read for some; a wake up call that says that you don’t need to press your opinion on others; that you can choose to be happy; that the past is over.

The Guildhall Village pub, formerly known as the Yorkshire Grey, was owned by my great grandfather, after he left the Royal Navy. My grandmother was born here. Quite a moving experience to visit such a beautiful heritage building with such family history, with my brother. 🥰
