Back to work today to find out that triple j have pulled our favorite program Roots N All. The program regularly had given our artists their first spin on national radio and supported our folk/pop artists. We are truly heartbroken, it's a massive loss for all Aussie Folk artists. It will hit hard for many artists from Folk Alliance Australia. Here was our 1st ever Triple J spin back in 2014 from Sarah Howells it opened the door for so many opportunities around the world. 💔

Mental health music charity Listen Up Music and philanthropic group Wyatt Trust have joined forces to create a songwriting competition to campaign the need for increased support for JobSeeker.​
A new song competition with a $10,000 cash prize was launched on 6 July 2021 to give voice to those who are unemployed or underemployed. Australian musicians are asked to write and record their best anthem, one that represents those unable to make ends meet on current income support and submit this by 5 September 2021 to be in the running for the prize.

This was 5 years ago this week. We were over 4 years in to being a record label and had learned the best ways to plan and work a record release strategy on a next to nothing budget. When you needed to have the mix and masters complete, when we needed to service radio and how to create the press release and target a release date to get the most coverage. We had learned how to get media coverage internationally and worked like crazy to fund the plan and work the conference SXSW . At the end of this week 5 years ago we were seeing 'ones to watch' mentions, reviews and articles across a broad range of international media including some of the top magazines/media sites that we would never have dreamed about a few years before. It was possible due to commitment and hard work from the artist, Demi Louise, over a long period, great social media skills, being totally focused, sticking to the plan and getting the timing right every step of the way on every aspect of the release strategy. It was so much hard work and nearly broke us physically, mentally and financially but at the same time so exciting and fun. Hindsight and looking back at lessons learned are a great thing, 5 years on I know how we could have gotten that number one spot. Still happy to have got number 2 and everything that it took to get there. We keep learning and looking at how we can improve. It's lovely to be reminded on how far we have come.
