In just his second-ever marathon, Jacob Kiplimo stormed to victory at the 2025 Chicago Marathon in 2:02:23 - a personal best and the seventh-fastest marathon time in history. The 24-year-old Ugandan may have fallen short of world-record pace, but he held strong to claim the crown in the Windy City.

On the women’s side, Hawi Feysa delivered a career-defining run, leading from the gun to win in 2:14:56 - a two-minute personal best and her first World Marathon Major title. The Ethiopian star averaged 3:11/km to seal her biggest victory yet.
